After a closed-door meeting with AEW management, MVP has successfully argued that AEW World Heavyweight Champion “The Almighty” Bobby Lashley doesn’t get paid by the hour. As a result, history will be made this Sunday at Aftershock 2. For the first time ever, the AEW World Heavyweight Championship will be defended in the opening contest as Lashley puts his title on the line against Randy Orton!
In another historic first, the AEW Knockouts Championship will headline the event, marking the first time in BWM Inc. history that a mixed-gender PPV closes with a Knockouts match. The only other instance of the Knockouts Championship headlining a PPV was during the EWA’s sixth era launch, the all-Knockouts PPV Hell Hath No Fury.
Capping off the biggest event of the summer, “Timeless” Toni Storm will defend her Knockouts Championship against “The Man” Becky Lynch in one of the most anticipated matches of the year!
