Megan Mouse-Zayn hosts impromptu press conference minutes before Dynamite hits the air

Megan Mouse-Zayn stands behind a podium, the BWM Inc. logo prominently displayed behind her. A sea of reporters and photographers are packed into the room, buzzing with curiosity. Megan adjusts her blazer, clears her throat, and speaks confidently into the microphone.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Thank you all for being here on such short notice. I know we’re moments away from Dynamite airing live, so I promise not to take up too much of your time. I’ll take a few questions, but first, there’s something important I need to address.

Megan glances at her notes, then looks directly at the cameras.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: As many of you are aware, AEW has experienced an unusual shake-up in our schedule recently. Our programming for the week of September 29 was canceled, and Chaos has been suspended for the last two weeks. It’s no secret that my husband, AEW World Champion Sami Zayn, and I have been the target of increasingly dangerous and unpredictable threats, namely from Danhausen and his right-hand, the Boogeyman.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: While I’m proud to say that despite these challenges, AEW’s flagship programming, Dynamite, has continued, we’ve made the decision to suspend all secondary programming through the month of October. This isn’t something we take lightly, but it’s necessary as Sami prepares to deal with the Danhausen threat once and for all, one week from tonight at Sympathy for the Devil.

She pauses, allowing her words to sink in.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Regardless of the outcome next week, there will be no Dynamite the following Monday, as we will observe Decision 2024 in America. But that’s not why I called this emergency press conference. No, tonight I’m here to issue an invitation.

The room falls silent with anticipation.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Danhausen’s right-hand man, the Boogeyman, has been wreaking havoc for far too long. So tonight, I’m calling on him to face the most brutal shark in wrestling history—Slammer!

Gasps and murmurs ripple through the crowd.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: After Slammer disposes of Boogeyman tonight on Dynamite, all that will be left is for Sami to take out Danhausen next week. And once that threat to this company is handled, we will resume our regularly scheduled programming. Now, I’ll take a few questions.

The first reporter immediately raises a hand and stands.

Reporter #1: Do you actually believe that you and Sami have been… cursed? I mean, come on, this is pro wrestling, not some supernatural—

The reporter chuckles dismissively, but Megan’s expression remains stoic.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Individuals with inexplicable abilities have always existed in professional wrestling. Some of those abilities may even border on the supernatural. I’m a smart woman with a firm grip on reality, but it’s hard to deny what’s happening right in front of your eyes.

Megan’s tone becomes more forceful as she continues.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Whether this ‘curse’ is supernatural or psychological, it doesn’t change the fact that my husband and I are being harassed and threatened on a near-weekly basis. Real or not, it messes with your mind. And for too long, Danhausen has distracted us—the most powerful couple in modern professional wrestling. That ends next week.

Another reporter stands up, a look of intrigue on their face.

Reporter #2: There’s been a lot of buzz about a storyline in ULW where former employees claim to have ‘earth-shattering’ news about your birth, in which Benny Mouse faked a paternity test to make it look like you were Saguna’s daughter. Any thoughts on that?

Megan smirks, clearly unfazed by the question.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: It’s a smart move on their part to try and capitalize on a successful AEW storyline. But there’s nothing ULW can say about my birth that would shock me. For most of my life, I thought I was adopted. My father used that belief to mentally abuse me, to manipulate me into submission.

Megan’s expression darkens.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Now that I know the truth—that I am his daughter by blood and always have been—I feel no remorse for anything I’ve done. Danhausen claims I’m cursed for my actions, but what I’ve done pales in comparison to the wrongs Benny did to me. It’s an eye for an eye, and if anyone should understand that concept, it’s Danhausen.

She crosses her arms, signaling her confidence in the matter. Another reporter steps forward, this time with a more pressing question.

Reporter #3: With the recent erratic behavior of Murrey Entertainment, how do you feel about the impact it’s had on the industry? And do you think it’ll have lasting effects?

Megan’s expression softens slightly as she speaks with respect.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: I’ve always had a great deal of respect for Mr. Murrey. He’s a pioneer in this industry, and the world he created continues to inspire me. My mission has always been to build on that legacy, to take this industry to new heights. Clearly, I’m doing something right, because when you’ve got competitors attacking you from all angles, it means you’re a threat. I will not claim that I speak for Murrey or the WWE, but I will say, when things stabilize, the entire industry would be wise not to dismiss them. In the weeks since their “instability” has began, the company has scored its first two ratings victories of the era, including one first place finish over AEW!

Megan’s face hardens once again as she prepares to address the final question.

Reporter #4: What will you and Sami do if Danhausen wins? And what if your father, who escaped from the nursing home, reappears?

Megan’s jaw tightens. She straightens her posture and steps back from the microphone.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: Dynamite is about to go on the air, so I’ll end it here. Tonight, we’ve got Max Caster versus Austin Theory as part of the build to next week’s Dumpster Match at Sympathy for the Devil. And Boogeyman… consider this your official invitation.

Megan turns on her heel and exits the stage without another word, leaving the reporters murmuring as the camera fades out, transitioning into the start of AEW Dynamite.
