AEW.com’s Chris Hyatte is reporting that Xolo Mariduena, the young lead from the Netflix hit “Cobra Kai,” is set to meet once more with BWM Inc. Chairman & AEW World Heavyweight Champion Sami Zayn this Monday, hours before Dynamite hits the air.
The duo clashed on June 23, when Mariduena stormed out of BWM Inc. Headquarters after a dispute with the Chairman regarding his presentation in All Elite Wrestling. Mariduena has stated publicly that he does not wished to be “pigenholed” in AEW by continuing with his character Miguel Diaz, and wishes to make it on his own merits. Zayn, conversely, has openly stated that he drafted Mariduena specifically for the Diaz character, hoping to replicate the successes Murrey Entertainment has found with “Johnny Lawrence.” Following their previous meeting, Mariduena threatened to quit the company. Sources familiar with both sides report both are feeling optimistic that a compromise can be reached before Dynamite hits the air Monday, live from Drake Track Stadium on the beautiful UCLA campus.
Additionally, Chris Hyatte is reporting that AEW’s “blockbuster signing” hyped by Sami Zayn since Starrcade is NOT someone from the “Available Talent” list, as pundits in the competition have suggested.
