AEW Dynamite #50: Clash of Champions [S04E01]

Live from Ball Arena | Denver, CO | Crowd Size: 21,003

SEGMENT ONE

Immediately after Exodus:

A moonless sky hangs over the forgotten backroads of rural Arlington, Texas. High beam headlights of a dented, matte-black van cut through the darkness, as gravel flies as the van’s tires abruptly come to a halt in a cloud of dust.

For a long moment, there’s only silence as the dust settles, until the driver’s door creaks open, immediately followed by the passenger side door opening as well.

The Harlem Turtles step out in tandem, their faces blank and eerie, illuminated by the headlights. There is a sense of urgency about them, yet they’re also oddly still.

They move slowly, but in perfect mechanical unison, toward the rear doors of the van. Suddenly, they grab ahold of the handle and the doors fly open.

Inside lies Sami Zayn, his body slumped, hands bound at the wrists. His shirt is torn, and his face is caked with matted blood from the attack at the end of Exodus. His eyes are heavy but alert as he squints up at them.

Sami Zayn: [voice hoarse, desperate] I’ll double whatever Benny and Danhausen are giving you. Triple it. Please—just talk to me—

A brutal gut punch from Stevie R. silences him mid-bargain. Sami coughs violently, wheezing in pain.

Booker D.: [low, firm] Quiet.

They grab him by the arms and yank him out of the van, dragging his limp body like dead weight and tossing him onto the gravel. He hits the ground hard, dirt and small stones embedding in his face.

Sami groans, rolling onto his side, blood dripping from his mouth, his breaths shallow and rattling.

Sami Zayn: [pleading] Come on guys, what are you doing. You can’t—

Booker D.: [sharper] Shut. Up.

Booker D. kneels next to Sami, as he reaches for a hunting knife. Sami’s eyes widen as Booker D. pulls the knife from its sheath. With a flick of his wrist, Booker slices through the ropes binding Sami’s wrists. The frayed nylon falls away, and Sami crumples forward, too broken to stand, barely able to lift his head.

Sami Zayn: [weakly] Why… are you doing this… Why are you helping them?

The Turtles say nothing. Instead, Stevie R. kneels next to Sami and shoves something into his trembling hands. The camera moves in, revealing an old, unmarked VHS tape. It’s black plastic casing is cracked, and the label has long since peeled away.

Stevie R.: This has the answers you want.

Sami looks at the tape, confused. Then, without ceremony, the Turtles stand and turn their backs to Sami, walking towards their van. The doors shut behind them, as the engine rumbles to life. They peel off into the night, spraying gravel and a thick wave of dust and exhaust into the air.

Sami Zayn lays alone in the dirt, coughing, clutching the VHS tape to his chest. The winds howl through the dark fields around him as the scene fades to black.

In the halls of the Ball Arena, noise from the production crew is heard in the distance as monitors blare and staff move about. Down one side of the hallway, the energy shifts, as two ominous figures move in near perfect harmony.

Benny Mouse walks slowly, his posture sharper than it’s been in years. The camera focuses on his face, as his eyes gleam with clarity. However, there’s something unnatural behind his gaze; something haunted.

At his side, like a living shadow, is Danhausen.

Suddenly, Molly Mouse steps out from behind a dim alcove, cutting the duo off. There’s a hint of pain in her eyes as she addresses her estranged ex-husband.

Molly Mouse: Benny. Can I speak to you? Alone?

Benny stops. Danhausen halts beside him, head twitching slightly. Benny tilts his head, voice low and deliberate.

Benny Mouse: We’re alone now.

Molly frowns, her gaze shifting uneasily to Danhausen.

Molly Mouse: No, I mean, truly alone… without… him…

Benny chuckles, but there’s no warmth in it. Only echo and shadow.

Benny Mouse: Anything you’ve got to say to me, you can say in front of Danhausen.

Danhausen tilts his head toward Molly, eyes wide with exaggerated innocence.

Molly Mouse: [sighing] Listen, Benny… I don’t know what kind of dark magic this is… what he’s done to you. I never expected to have a real conversation with you again. The last two years, you could barely recognize your own daughter. And now…

Molly’s voice trails off as she just stares at Benny, in near total disbelief.

Molly Mouse: You stood on that stage at the draft like your mind had never cracked. You were sharper than you’ve been in a decade.

Benny looks at her, unmoved, then speaks with that same strange cadence, the one that now eerily mimics Danhausen’s riddled tone.

Benny Mouse: A mind is only diseased… until the rot is removed.
Once the decay is gone… the vessel remembers who it was.

Molly scoffs, folding her arms tight.

Molly Mouse: I still don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. I never do anymore. But when I saw you up there—I knew. Something’s changed.

Benny Mouse: [growing impatient] What do you want, Molly? I sent the alimony check.

Molly ignores the dig.

Molly Mouse: We need a strategy. About what Splidder knows… And what the world found out about Abigail.

There’s a long silence that hangs heavy.

Molly Mouse: You promised me… that what we did to her— [voice cracking] That it would never come back. That it would never touch Megan.

Benny doesn’t blink. Doesn’t flinch.

Benny Mouse: I’m not bothered by what we did, Molly. Not anymore. I don’t care about what Splidder knows. In fact, I welcome the truth. Because it’s time it all came out.

Molly recoils, visibly shaken.

Molly Mouse: Benny… have you even thought about what that means for Megan? She’s barely held together as it is. She’s been in and out of institutions for years. We promised— [tears begin to well up in Molly’s eyes] We tried to protect her.

Benny Mouse: Maybe we’ve tried everything but the truth. Maybe it’s time… to try that.

He turns and walks down the corridor, steps echoing with purpose. Molly stands frozen, eyes wide, breath shallow.

Danhausen lingers a moment, head cocked, voice a cold whisper as he leans in beside her.

Danhausen: Those were the last words you’ll ever speak to your husband. Stay out of our way.

He slinks off after Benny, leaving Molly alone in the hallway, her face pale and cracked with dread.

The opening video package plays, freshly infused with new talent acquired via the draft. As it comes to an end, the pyro explodes and Arn Anderson and Kevin Kelly eagerly welcome us back to Dynamite!

Kevin Kelly: We are live from a sold-out Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado as AEW Dynamite returns!

Arn Anderson: And what a way to kick off the fourth season of All Elite Wrestling! It’s he 50th episode of All Elite Wrestling’s flagship program, and we’re celebrating with a Clash of Champions! All the gold is on the line tonight!

Kevin Kelly: The card has been set for weeks, Arn, and the wait is finally over! Wrestling’s number one company is back on the air for a fourth straight season—that’s a record in BWM Inc. history. And tonight? Tonight it’s all about the AEW World Heavyweight Championship!

Arn Anderson: No doubt about, Kevin! The Forgotten Brandon Lee defends the title he peeled away from Logan Paul in that brutal Crimson Car Match at Exodus against the number one contender, Hangman Adam Page!

Kevin Kelly: Page beat Will Ospreay at Starrcade, but he didn’t do it alone—The Young Bucks made their shocking debut, and now, Page has a second shot at the top prize in our industry.

Arn Anderson: It’s their first meeting ever, Kevin, and that’s not all! Because tonight, Timeless Toni Storm defends the Knockouts Championship against Zelina Vega, and the Gunns put the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against former WWE Tag Champs—D.I.Y.

Kevin Kelly: An absolutely stacked card for Dynamite, and we thank you so much for choosing to spend your Monday night with us! And Arn, we’re not wasting any time, because up first, Shelton Benjamin of the Hurt Syndicate defends the AEW Television Championship against BWM Inc.’s number one overall draft pick… L.A. Knight!

Match #1 | AEW Television Championship
Shelton Benjamin (C) w/ MVP vs. LA Knight

LA Knight is out first, to a massive reaction from the live crowd, who are getting their first look at Knight in an AEW ring.

Kevin Kelly: What a way to kick off Dynamite, as LA Knight, the self-proclaimed Megastar, makes his AEW Dynamite debut. And in his first singles match? He’s getting a shot at gold!

Arn Anderson: That’s right, Kevin. LA Knight was AEW’s top pick last month in the World of Wrestling Draft. You have to believe that the company expects big things for him, but you also have to know that Shelton Benjamin isn’t just going to roll over and play dead.

Kevin Kelly: No doubt about that, Benjamin is a dangerous man who has absolutely left his mark since arriving last spring. And at Exodus, he was joined by Bobby Lashley and MVP as the three of them formed the Hurt Syndicate, with one goal in mind… they’re here to hurt people! And tonight, LA Knight may very well be on the receiving end of that mission.

Benjamin is out next, accompanied by MVP. As soon as Benjamin steps through the ropes, he’s ambushed by Knight, who unloads with a series of right hands as Senior Official Michael McMahon rings the bell and this one gets underway!

Benjamin stumbles away, hoping to create some distance, but Knight charges him and takes him down with a clothesline! Shelton gets up immediately, only for Knight to hit him with another one, this time sending him to the outside.

Knight follows him to the outside and hits him with a big boot that sends him flying into the commentary desk. MVP immediately goes over and tends to Shelton, while also creating some distance between Benjamin and Knight.

Kevin Kelly: The Hurt Syndicate has been on an undeniable roll lately, Arn, but LA Knight is looking to halt some of that momentum.

Arn Anderson: Benjamin won the TV championship, and holds a win over Swerve Stickland. The Almighty Bobby Lashley won the Gold Rush Ladder Match at Starrcade, guaranteeing him a crack at any championship of his choosing at any time. MVP is seeing all of that momentum come to a grinding halt right now, courtesy of LA Knight!

Knight reaches over MVP and grabs Shelton by the hair, sending him rolling back into the ring. Knight and MVP trade words, but Knight doesn’t linger on him for too long, his focus clearly on the task at hand and not MVP’s trash talk.

When Knight gets back into the ring, Shelton goes for a kick. Knight catches his boot, spins him around, and Shelton fires back with the Dragon Whip. The impact of the spinning heel kick finally changes the pace of the match, which had been all Knight from the early-goings.

Benjamin grounds Knight with a side headlock takedown as MVP shouts instructions from outside. Benjamin sends Knight into the corner and connects with a step-up knee. He tosses him to the other corner and looks for it again, but this time Knight doges, and Benjamin’s knee hits the turnbuckle!

Knight catches him with the atomic drop, followed by a stiff clothesline. The crowd fires up in Knight’s corner as he lifts Shelton for a pop-up powerslam, followed by a running elbow drop. He hooks the leg, but Benjamin kicks out at two!

Knight goes to the top rope, but Benjamin kips up and charges him, connecting with a super avalanche hip toss! Benjamin telegraphs it and as soon as Knight reaches his feet, he connects with a picture perfect superkick!

Arn Anderson: That’s the world class ring-IQ of Shelton Benjamin!

Kevin Kelly: We’ve talked a lot about Benjamin’s pedigree, his background as an amateur NCAA wrestler. He’s so explosive, so quick. LA Knight’s BWM Inc. debut is quickly turning into a nightmare!

Benjamin scoops him up, looking for a running powerslam. Knight slides out of it, however, and connects with a leaping neckbreaker! The crowd chants “Yeah!” as Knight looks to finish Benjamin off.

However, MVP jumps onto the apron, creating a distraction with McMahon. Knight is having none of it, however, sending MVP off the apron with a big boot!

Just as he turns around, however, Benjamin flies at him with a spinning wheel kick! Knight moves, and Benjamin strikes the official!

Arn Anderson: McMahon’s down! MVP is down! This thing is falling apart, Kevin!

Benjamin grabs a hold of Knight, sending him flying across the ring with a huge overhead belly to belly! He goes to to check on MVP, and while he’s kneeling beside him, Swerve Strickland emerges from the crowd!

Kevin Kelly: Wait a minute, that’s Swerve Strickland!

Arn Anderson: And he looks beyond pissed off!

Kevin Kelly: Let us not forget what happened at Exodus! Strickland was moments away from recapturing the TV Championship, only for MVP to attack him with that cane and cost him the match!

With Benjamin kneeled at MVP’s side, Swerve charges and connects with the House Call! The crowd is losing it as Swerve sends him back into the ring, and he slaps the official to wake him.

Just as Michael McMahon begins to stir, LA Knight snatches Benjamin… BFT!

He covers him, as Swerve watches on with a twisted grin…

Winner and NEW AEW Television Champion: LA Knight
Match Time: 10:03

Arn Anderson: Turnabout is fair play here at Dynamite 50: Clash of Champions!

Kevin Kelly: LA Knight secures gold in his first singles match in BWM Inc., and you’ve got to believe the target on Swerve Strickland’s back just got a lot bigger.

The segment concludes with Swerve nodding to LA Knight, who nods back before basking in the approval of the crowd and holding the AEW TV Championship high as the scene fades.

SEGMENT TWO

Backstage, Renee Young is standing by, microphone in hand, next to the Acting Director of Operations, Master Splinter!

Renee Young: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time—the Acting Director of Operations, Master Splinter. Splinter, I know you’ve got a few announcements to make, but before we get to that… the world is dying to know—have you spoken to your brother, Splidder, following the events of Starrcade?

Master Splinter: I have spent the past month focused entirely on preparing for tonight. On restoring order. On earning the trust this role demands. And while my brother has made his return… we have yet to sit down, one on one, and truly speak about what it is he knows. Whatever knowledge he holds from his time in ULW, I fully intend to hear it. And when I do—make no mistake—I will not hesitate to share the truth with the world. But tonight’s not about that, Renee.

Renee Young: Fair enough, I had to ask. Regarding your announcements, what can you tell us?

Master Splinter: Despite my history with Benny Mouse—tumultuous as it may be—I am still the Acting Director of Operations. And I hope to make that title permanent. This is not a vanity post for me, Renee. It is a responsibility I take seriously. Which is why I have two announcements to share.

Master Splinter: First, tonight’s main event for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, between the champion Brandon Lee and challenger “Hangman” Adam Page… will be no holds barred. That stipulation was requested by both men. And I approved it.

Renee Young: Wow, that’s big news! And the second announement?

Master Splinter: The second announcement is an update following the brutal Crimson Car Match at Exodus; a match I know all too well. Former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Logan Paul suffered a significant quad injury when Brandon Lee dropped the bucket truck on him. He is expected to be out of action for at least six more weeks. As for MJF, he sustained a concussion during that same match. His recovery is ongoing. The medical team projects a return in three to four weeks—but there are no guarantees. Now, as much as I’d love to stay and chat, I’ve got some more business to attend to.

Renee Young: Well, there you have it, folks! The main event scene in All Elite Wrestling continues to evolve as two of the biggest stars will remain out of action for the bulk of the summer, and tonight’s world title match is going to be an all out brawl!

Outside of High Minded’s locker room, AEW Correspondent Taz is standing by with the AEW Knockouts Hardcore Champion, the one, the only Lady Love! Love has the belt draped over her shoulder like a fashion accessory.

Taz: We’re here outside the locker room of High Minded, and I’m standing by with the Knockouts Hardcore Champion herself, Lady Love. Now, Lady Love, you promised you had something to share with the AEW fans regarding your reign. I figure now’s as good a time as ever. The floor is yours.

Lady Love beams, places a hand on Taz’s head, and gives it a slow, teasing rub.

Lady Love: Oh, Tazzy. Bald, bold, and built like a little cannonball. If I weren’t married, I’d put you in a headlock and see what happens.

Lady Love winks at Taz, who chokes back a disgusted look.

Lady Love: But seriously—this Knockouts Hardcore Title? I won it at my wedding, remember? Total chaos, totally unexpected. A blessing in the middle of the happiest day of my life. Since then… nothing. No challengers. No call-outs. No wild brawls in parking lots or steel chairs flying through the air. Maybe it’s because I’m such a beloved legend of women’s wrestling. Or maybe people are just scared I’ll still snap ’em in half if they come near me. Whatever the reason—I’m grateful. Because let’s be real… I’m not a wrestler anymore. I’m an old lady in heels who wants to sip mimosas with her husband, Midget Hogan, and vibe with her crew in High Minded. Plus, as we all know, I’m a mother now…

Just then, the locker room door creaks open and Matt Riddle slumps out. He’s got a hoodie on, his head low, looking utterly miserable. He attempts to walk past Lady Love, who puts a hand on his shoulder and stops him.

Lady Love: Riddle? What’s going on, baby? You’ve been walking around like a storm cloud ever since last season.

Riddle looks up, eyes tired and glassy.

Matt Riddle: [sighing] You wanna know what’s wrong? First off—nobody takes me seriously anymore. I was HLW Champion. Top guy. But around here? I’m just background noise. Set dressing. I didn’t get exempted in the draft, I was a mid-tier save, and nobody in this group even gave a damn.

Lady Love’s face softens.

Matt Riddle: And then, to make it worse? Piper—she got drafted to ULW. And she dumped me. By text, bro. Just… “Good luck, goodbye. Don’t call me.”

Love frowns and puts a gentle hand on his shoulder.

Matt Riddle: [getting angrier] Yeah. And ever since you joined the group, it’s felt like I’ve been fading out of the picture… we used to get into all sorts of fun antics and have a good time, but now? It’s just all about you and your family drama!

Riddle stares at her a moment, jaw clenched, then shakes his head and storms down the hallway without another word. Love watches him go, stunned. After a beat, she turns back to Taz, adjusting the strap of her title.

Lady Love: Well… I’m not sure what that was about. Sorry about that, Tazzy. I guess emotions are running high tonight, but like I was saying—

The locker room door opens again, and this time, Midget Hogan storms out, visibly upset, red in the face, his bandana slightly askew. Lady Love turns around, surprised to see him in such a state.

Lady Love: Babe? What’s going on now?

Midget Hogan: You seriously don’t know?

He throws his arms out, furious.

Midget Hogan: You think it’s fine to flash the world and all your exes at Starrcade like that?! I thought that once we said “I do,” all that attention-seeking crap would stop!

Lady Love: [defensive] That wasn’t about attention, it was—

Midget Hogan: Don’t. Just don’t. You still need the validation. You still need every man in the room to look at you like you’re the only woman alive. And you think I haven’t noticed how little you care when I try to bond with your son? The kid treats me like dirt. Like I’m some joke. And you just shrug it off!

Lady Love looks stunned, guilt flashing across her face.

Lady Love: Midgey… come on, this isn’t the time—

Midget Hogan: [scoffing] No, it’s never the time, is it?

He storms off down the hall, ignoring her calls.

Lady Love: Midgey! Come back here!

She begins to follow him—but before she can take two steps, a steel chair slams across her back, dropping her to the cold concrete floor! The crowd gasps audibly from the arena beyond. The attacker steps into frame—it’s Molly Holly!

Molly Holly: That title doesn’t belong to you, grandma!

Lady Love groans, clutching her ribs as Molly tosses the chair aside and drops down into a pin. Moments later, sprinting onto the scene, Knockouts Official Kenzie arrives, dropping for the count! Her hand slaps the floor three times, and we’ve got a new champion!

Molly Holly scrambles to her feet, snatches the Knockouts Hardcore Championship off the floor, and bolts down the hallway as Lady Love writhes in pain. Taz watches on, dumbfounded, as this interview has totally gone off the rails.

Taz: What the hell just happened?! Molly Holly just stole the Knockouts Hardcore Title right in front of us! Well, folks, I suppose we better take it back to ringside!

We open on an urban area of Salt Lake City, Utah as we see rapid-fire quick cuts of train tracks, overpasses, and gritty alleyways lit by flickering streetlights.

A drone-style camera continues to fly through the worst parts of the city until it lands above a woman in a black, hooded sweatshirt.

The woman is spray painting the words “The Problem” on the brick wall of an underpass.

The vignette cuts to more quick shots, now in a raw and grimy looking gym interior. From behind, we see the same woman, now in gym clothes from the back. The shots show lightening quick punches to a punching bag, deadlifts, and a bead of sweat dropping from her brow. There’s no music, we just hear the grunts of her breath as she trains, and the metal hitting the floor as she ends her deadlift set.

We cut back to the underpass, where the hooded woman now stands in front of the giant lettering that reads, “The Problem.” She slowing lifts her hood as the camera pushes in closer…

Zoey Stark: AEW didn’t draft a superstar… the drafted a problem!

The vignette smash cuts to a black screen with white lettering, “‘The Problem’ Zoey Stark. Coming Soon.”

Match #2 | AEW World Tag Team Championship
The Gunns (C) w/ Jay White vs. D.I.Y.

As the challengers are introduced, the AEW fans welcome former WWE Tag Team Champions, D.I.Y, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa with a huge pop.

Kevin Kelly: Listen to this place! This sold-out capacity crowd in Denver are welcoming Gargano and Ciampa in a big way!

The Gunns are out next, as Austin and Colten smirk their way down the aisle, with a more-frustrated Switchblade Jay White in tow.

Arn Anderson: The Gunns, the reigning and defending AEW World Tag Team Champions, are in a good mood tonight. But that man behind them, Switchblade Jay White, is still reeling from the loss at Starrcade. White promised he’d leave Charlotte, North Carolina with the AEW/WWE Dual Dominion Championship. That honor instead went to the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, and White is pissed about it!

The bell sounds and Colten and Ciampa start things off. Ciampa extends his arm for a lock up, but Colten instead hops out of the ring. He stalls, stepping onto the floor, and smirking at a crowd that’s growing increasingly frustrated with his antics.

Ciampa follows to the outside, introducing himself to Colten with a big knife edge chop that immediately welts Colten’s chest before tossing him back into the ring. Ciampa make the quick tag to Gargano, who hits the double knees to Colten’s ribs, as Ciampa follows with a clothesline.

Kevin Kelly: D.I.Y. comes into this match with something to prove, Arn. I had a chance to speak with them backstage before the show, and they expressed frustrations about Johnny Quest’s predictions that they wouldn’t leave here the champs.

Arn Anderson: Honestly, it’s amateur hour from D.I.Y. that they’re even concerning themselves with the pundits! These people spout off from behind a computer screen, and they’re so far removed from what it is actually like to step inside that squared circle. If D.I.Y. is going to let Quest get into their heads, then maybe they’ve already lost this thing!

Austin Gunn tries to rush in to intervene, but Gargano catches him with a dropkick. Colten manages to strike Gargano with a back elbow, attempting to slow the pace. All four men are in the ring and we get a staredown that sends the crowd into a frenzy, that is, until the Gunns retreat to the floor! The crowd showers them in boos.

Ciampa and Gargano shrug, before hitting the ropes and diving through the second rope with a tandem suicide dive!

Kevin Kelly: Now, that’s what I’m talking about! How good are D.I.Y?!

Back in the ring, Gargano makes the tag to Ciampa once more. He charges Colten, who catches him with a spinning powerslam. He follows it up with a back suplex in the Gunns corner, as he tags in Austin. The brothers isolate Ciampa, stomping on him until junior official Lance Storm manages to get Colten out of the ring.

Ciampa catches Austin with a kick, diving for his corner to make the tag to Gargano. However, Colten has run around the ring, and he pulls Mr. Wrestling off the apron just as Ciampa nearly hits his hand!

Austin continues to work on Ciampa inside, catching him with a Fame Asser! He covers…

2…

Ciampa kicks out! Ciampa follows it up with a jawbreaker on Austin Gunn, but Colten distracts Lance Storm just as Ciampa makes the tag! Gargano comes in like a house on fire, and the audience’s cheers turn to boos as Storm sends him back to the apron, having never seen the tag!

Kevin Kelly: Come on, ref! That’s textbook manipulation from the champions.

As Ciampa is finally able to make the tag with the ref’s eye on the prize, Gargano storms into the ring but he’s met by both Gunns, who double team him with a clothesline.

Austin tags in Colten, and he goes for a suplex. However, Gargano slides out and lifts him up. He sends him flying into the turnbuckle with the Lawn Dart! Colten stumbles, as Gargano follows it up with a superkick!

Gargano goes for a cover, but Colten kicks out at two. Gargano lights up Austin Gunn in his corner with a rolling enziguri, then drops Colten with a neckbreaker for another nearfall! A thunderous “Johnny Wrestling!” chant breaks out as the momentum has again shifted.

As Colten gets to his feet, Gargano goes to the apron and hits a slingshot spear, covering him once more!

1…

2…

2.999!

Colten barely manages to kick out.

Kevin Kelly: That was about as close as close gets!

The crowd erupts once more as both teams make the double tag, and in come Austin Gunn and Tomasso Ciampa. Ciampa immediately catches Austin with a hellacious flipping armbar submisson!

Arn Anderson: Ciampa’s got it locked in deep!

Colten’s back in the ring, breaking the hold! Gargano follows him in, sending both men to the outside as he connects with a spear through the ropes! Ciampa cradles Austin with the roll-up!

1…

2…

2.999!

Arn Anderson: This crowd is unglued!

They break into a “This is awesome!” chant, as commentary agrees.

With Colten still on the floor outside, Gargano gets back into the ring. They set Austin up, and they hit a perfectly executed Meet You in the Middle! Ciampa hits the knees to Austin’s head as Gargano follows it up immediately with the superkick.

Ciampa covers!

1…

2…

3!!!

Gargano begins jumping around in celebration, but just as Storm is about to call for the bell, he sees Austin’s foot on the bottom rope!

Kevin Kelly: No! The ref saw it! Austin’s foot was on the rope—and this match continues!

Austin stumbles to his feet as Storm sends Gargano back to the apron. Ciampa charges, but Austin gets out of the way and Ciampa goes shoulder-first into the post!

As Ciampa turns back around, Austin catches him with the One and Only, an homage to Billy Gunn’s Cobra Clutch Slam! Austin hits a sunset foot roll-up, as Storm drops to make the count.

Just as Storm falls into position, Jay White grabs Austin’s feet and puts them on the ropes for added leverage!

3!!!

Winners: The Gunns
Match Time: 16:22

Arn Anderson: An impressive debut for D.I.Y, but in the end, the Gunns are still the tag team champions!

Kevin Kelly: The Gunns just stole one from D.I.Y.—plain and simple, thanks to Switchblade Jay White!

Arn Anderson: Be that as it may, you’ve got to believe that the former WWE tag champs just set themselves up as serious contenders in a tag team field that’s got more depth than ever before!

Kevin Kelly: Folks, don’t go anywhere, we’ve got the Knockouts Championship coming up next!

SEGMENT THREE

In the locker room, Will Ospreay is sitting on a bench, looking dejected. It’s clear that the sting of Starrcade still lingers. Footsteps echo and the camera widens as Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson enter the locker room.

Kenny Omega: Will.

Ospreay looks up, his expression unreadable.

Bryan Danielson: Hey. Look—we just wanted to say we’re sorry. About what happened at Starrcade.

Danielson pauses for a beat, trying to read Ospreay’s face.

Bryan Danielson: You got screwed, man. The Bucks crossed a line.

Will Ospreay: Yeah, no kidding. I should’ve listened to AJ Styles. He warned me. Said Hangman wasn’t the same guy we all came up with. That the guy we used to grind with in VFW halls and dingy gymnasiums—he’s gone.

He shakes his head and exhales.

Will Ospreay: But I’m not gonna let one screwjob derail me. Not after everything I’ve sacrificed. I will be AEW World Heavyweight Champion. Hangman and the Bucks? They’ll wish they never picked this fight.

Danielson’s demeanor shifts at the mention of AJ Styles.

Bryan Danielson: AJ Styles… yeah, right…

He scoffs, arms crossed.

Bryan Danielson: AJ’s almost as bad as Hangman. Goes to WWE for a year, returns here for a month, waves the AEW flag around, only to bolt for ULW the second he saw their offer. He didn’t warn you out of loyalty—he was covering his own ass, like he always does.

Kenny Omega: Bryan, come on, man.

Bryan Danielson: What? Didn’t you see him on the 4th of July? He acted like everything in his life was just a stepping stone to ULW! It’s disgusting, man. I hope Punk makes him pay.

Kenny Omega: We all make choices. Styles saw an opportunity—he took it. We can’t blame him for that. It’s the same thing you did back in 2024, when you saw a route to the World Heavyweight Championship through Styles.

Danielson shrugs, reluctantly conceding the point.

Danielson: [to Ospreay] Look, the point is… we’re here now. We’re not going anywhere. And if you need anything—anything—when it comes to Adam Page… you’ve got us.

Ospreay looks from Danielson to Omega, nodding, as he stands up to make his exit.

Will Ospreay: Appreciate that, bruv.

He pats Omega on the shoulder, then nods once more at Danielson. He turns and walks down the hallway, fire in his stride. Danielson and Omega watch him go as the scene fades.

Match #3 | AEW Knockouts Champion
‘Timeless’ Toni Storm (C) vs. Zelina Vega

As the introductions are made, Arn Anderson says this is an amazing opportunity for Zelina Vega, who was drafted to AEW last year but then sat the season on the bench. Then, in 2025, the powers that be decided to give her another shot, drafting her in the top 10 of the first round. Kelly says she’s got her work cut out for her tonight, however, as Timeless Toni Storm has been on one of the most impressive runs in the history of women’s wrestling.

Kevin Kelly: It’s a big fight feel here tonight at Dynamite 50: Clash of Champions.

Arn Anderson: Zelina’s quick, dangerous, and unpredictable. But Toni’s a tank with lipstick. This won’t be pretty.

The bells sounds and the two lock up dramatically. They break after its clear neither of them are going to get a clear advantage. Toni takes this opportunity to strike a theatrical pose, drawing cheers from the crowd. Vega answers with a roll-up for an early nearfall.

Vega goes for an armbar. Storm fights it off, escapes, and gives Vega a playful spank to the rear—drawing a mix of laughter and surprise from the crowd.

Arn Anderson: A little bit of light banter from Toni Storm in the early goings of this match, but make no mistake about it, Toni’s not here to lose the lead role.

Storm takes control with a dropkick that knocks Vega to the floor. She follows with a running hip attack off the apron, flattening Vega. She sends her back inside the ring, taking more time to taunt the crowd.

As Toni gets back inside, Vega responds with a kick to her face. She follows it up with a sunset flip into a powerbomb in the corner, drawing a big pop from the crowd. Vega immediately covers her.

Vega fires up with three amigos suplexes. She heads to the top rope for a frog splash, but Storm gets the knees up!

Storm hits a pair of German suplexes, the second landing awkwardly for Vega. A third German plants Vega. Storm follows with a hip attack to the corner, then connects with Storm Zero!!!

Winner: Timeless Toni Storm
Match Time: 22:42

Arn Anderson: What a match from two of the hottest up and coming acts in women’s wrestling! Zelina Vega gave her everything. But Timeless Toni Storm? She always finds a way to steal the final scene.

As Knockouts Official Kenzie retrieves the belt for Timeless Toni Storm, Storm snatches the belt and grabs a microphone. Her makeup is smeared, her breathing heavy, a faint trickle of blood under her nose.

Timeless Toni Storm: [breathless] Ohhh, what a divine little dance that was… [she gestures toward the stage where Vega was helped out moments earlier] …brava, Miss Vega, brava.

She staggers backward into the ropes, dragging the title across the canvas, then leans into the mic.

Timeless Toni Storm: But tell me, tell me—is that all you’ve got? Is that what this division has to offer me?

She looks around, eyes wild, arms wide open.

Timeless Toni Storm: I retired Miss Athena Star. I ended the tragic little reign of Liv Morgan. And tonight… I put down your fiery up-and-comer like a dog that barked too loud.

The crowd starts to turn on her, but Storm soaks it in with a wide, unbothered smile. She tosses the title over her shoulder and staggers back to center ring.

Timeless Toni Storm: So who wants to be my next scene partner, hmm? Who wants to stand across from me in the spotlight—knowing full well how this movie ends?

For a moment, nothing happens. Then, the arena comes unglued as Celtic Invasion hits, and Becky Lynch emerges at the top of the ramp, hands on hips, in leather and denim. Her eyes locked on Storm.

The crowd chants “BECKY! BECKY!” as Storm’s face lights up. She doesn’t look intimidated—she looks positively elated.

Timeless Toni Storm: [to herself] Oh, marvelous…

Becky raises a mic, the cheers still rolling through the building.

Becky Lynch: You’ve beaten a lot of women, Toni. I’ll give you that.

She steps down the ramp slowly, voice steady and sharp. She stops near the halfway point.

Becky Lynch: You made a habit of writing your own endings. But there’s one thing you haven’t done. You’ve never beaten The Man.

Storm nods slowly, her grin widening.

Becky Lynch: Enjoy your spotlight, Toni. ‘Cause I’ll be seeing you… real soon.

Becky drops the mic. Storm clutches the title to her chest like an Oscar, laughing with wide eyes as the screen fades to black.

SEGMENT FOUR

Match #4 | AEW World Heavyweight Championship
‘The Forgotten’ Brandon Lee (C) w/ Paul Heyman vs. Hangman Adam Page

Hangman is out first to a thunderous chorus of boos. Brandon Lee and Heyman are out next, to a warm reception. As the introductions are made, Anderson and Kelly discuss how we’ve gotten here.

Kevin Kelly: Twenty years of pain, scars, and missed opportunities brought Brandon Lee here—but it was the Crimson Car Match at Exodus that etched his name in history.

Arn Anderson: It was last winter when the first vignette for The Forgotten aired, and ever since Lee’s star has risen at a meteoric pace. But it was the alliance with Paul Heyman that took Lee to Exodus, where he defeated Logan Paul and MJF for the top prize in our sport.

Kevin Kelly: Tonight, Lee faces a different kind of problem: Hangman Adam Page, who punched his ticket at Starrcade, with help from the Young Bucks. It’s no holds barred, per both men’s wishes.

As the bell rings, Page charges full speed at Lee, pinning him to the corner. He launches intense punches and kicks, absolutely drilling the champion. Lee tries to fire back, but Page catches his legs and ties him up in the ropes. He reaches into to his pocket and pulls out a fork!

Page jams it into Lee’s head repeatedly. The crowd erupts as Brandon Lee begins bleeding within minutes.

Arn Anderson: Oh, this one won’t be for the faint of heart, I can already tell you that!

Kevin Kelly: Look at the lengths Hangman is willing to go for that championship! This isn’t Cowboy Shit, this is attempted homicide and it’s sickening!

Arn Anderson: Hey, it’s no holds barred! You want the AEW World Heayweight Championship? You better be ready to give some of yourself away. Page is ready.

Kevin Kelly: If you faint easily, you’re going to want to look away from this one.

Lee scrambles under the ropes, but Page follows. They fight at ringside. Page goes for barbed wire under the ring, but Lee snatches it away and scrapes it across Page’s forehead! Now both men are bleeding five minutes in.

Lee grabs a steel chair, wrapped in barbed wire. He slams it into Page’s spine, then body slams him onto the chair. Page writhes in pain. Lee follows with repeated forearms to the head, each strike louder than the last.

Kevin Kelly: There’s something methodical, almost surgical, about how Lee breaks his opponents down. You can feel the grudge in every movement.

Arn Anderson: Like we mentioned earlier tonight, he’s waited a LONG time to get to where he’s at… he’s not about to just give his spot away, not if he can help it.

Lee wedges the barbed wire chair into the corner. He whips Page toward it—but Page reverses! Lee stops himself just short, turns, and connects with the chair to the face! Page staggers but stays on his feet.

Lee and Heyman set up a table at ringside. Page bites Lee’s head, climbing up the turnbuckle with him—but Lee hits a cutter off the ropes to reset the momentum.

Lee reaches under the ring and pulls out broken beer bottle glass. He dumps it over the ring before grabbing Page by the hair, slamming him face first into it! He starts dragging Page’s body through it, embedded shards glittering in his back. Then, he scoops him up and nails a piledriver onto the glass!

The crowd breaks out into a “Holy Shit!” chant as Anderson notes that Brandon Lee is just as willing to get down in the mud as Hangman is.

Arn Anderson: Whatever it takes, Kevin, to leave here with that belt!

Kevin Kelly: You better have insurance if you’re in this match. This ain’t wrestling anymore. It’s a damned crime scene!

Lee grabs two chairs and sets them up in the ring. He climbs the middle rope, dragging Page up with him. Page headbutts him again and again. Page transitions them into a powerbomb onto the edges of both chairs!!!

He covers Lee…

2.999!

Lee somehow kicks out! Page’s frustration is growing as he gets to his feet slowly, waiting for Lee to join him. The crowd erupts into boos as the Young Bucks’ music hits.

They slide into the ring, each carrying a chair. They blast Lee across the back!

Just like at Starrcade, the Bucks pull Lee up by each arm, holding him in place as Page slowly goes to the apron.

Arn Anderson: Here we go, just like what Hangman did to Will Ospreay at Starrcade!

Kevin Kelly: Oh no, we’re going to have a new champion!

The crowd rises to their feet as Page calls for it, then flips into the ring… BUCKSHOT CONNECTS! Heyman watches on in horror from ringside!

Suddenly, the crowd turns towards the stage, as Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson rush to the ring! Danielson connects with the Busaiku Knee to Matt Jackson! V-Trigger from Omega to Nick Jackson!

Hangman watches on in horror as the opposition takes out his help. Suddenly, “Elevated” hits, and Will Ospreay rushes the ring! Hidden Blade connects to Hangman, nearly decapitating him! TIGER DRIVER 91!

Arn Anderson: Ospreay just got payback for Starrcade, and may well have ended Hangman’s championship dream!

Ospreay exits through the crowd as chaos brews in the ring. Brandon Lee slowly claws toward Page. With help from Heyman screaming directions, Lee drags Page to the top rope. He sets up for the Spin to the End…

Suddenly, the lights go out!

Arn Anderson: What the hell is going on tonight?!

The crowd erupts as Hysteria by Muse hits… and it’s SEAN OLSEN!!! The Forgotten One’s half-brother, Olsen storms the ring, and HITS LEE WITH THE OLSEN PLUNGE!

Heyman screams in horror at ringside.

Kevin Kelly: WHAT THE HELL?! SEAN OLSEN! SEAN OLSEN IS HERE!

Page slowly stands, blood in his eyes, broken glass in his back, and roars in agony as he springs off the ropes… BUCKSHOT LARIAT!!!

Michael McMahon drops to the mat and counts…

Winner and NEW AEW World Heavyweight Champion: Hangman Adam Page
Match Time: 26:02

Kevin Kelly: Hangman Adam Page has sold his soul to get to the top of the mountain! Every friend he’s ever made… betrayed! Everything he’s ever claimed to believe in, thrown away!

Arn Anderson: Well, Kevin, you may not agree with his tactics… but just look where they got him! Hangman Adam Page is FINALLY world champion!

Page collapses to his knees with the AEW World Championship. Bloodied, exhausted, unable to even stand. Fireworks explode as the crowd boos what could have been a huge moment for the fans had Hangman made different choices en route to this victory.

🎵 Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom
🎵 (Oh, they hurt people)
🎵 Somebody got to die

The bass hits hard. The crowd erupts into stunned chaos as The Hurt Syndicate’s music shakes the foundation of the arena.

Kevin Kelly: WHAT THE HELL?! IT’S THE HURT SYNDICATE! LASHLEY! BENJAMIN! MVP! THEY’RE HERE!

The Almighty Bobby Lashley, flanked by Shelton Benjamin and MVP, make their way onto the stage, calm as ever amid the destruction. MVP is dressed sharp, carrying the Gold Rush Ladder Match briefcase.

They hit the ring like sharks smelling blood. Hangman stumbles to one foot, instinctively swinging—but T-BONE SUPLEX FROM SHELTON BENJAMIN!

MVP hands the briefcase to the referee.

Jane Mouse: Ladies and gentlemen… per the Gold Rush Ladder Match contract… Bobby Lashley is CASHING IN on the AEW World Heavyweight Champion RIGHT NOW!

DING DING DING.

The bell rings.

Hangman tries to pull himself up by the ropes. Blood pours down his face. He wobbles to his feet—

SPEAR!!!

Page is folded in half. The air is sucked out of the arena.

Lashley doesn’t go for the pin. He crouches behind the broken Hangman and locks in the HURT LOCK! The crowd is losing their minds! Page thrashes for all of three seconds before his arms go limp.

Senior Official Michael McMahon checks…

He’s OUT!

Jane Mouse: Here is your winner… and NEW AEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION… THE ALMIGHTY… BOBBY LASHLEY!

Lashley rises slowly, chest heaving, Hangman’s blood spatter across his arms as he raises the AEW World Title high overhead. MVP claps methodically. Benjamin stands beside them, arms crossed, stone-faced.

Kevin Kelly: A shocking turn of events here at Dynamite 50! Bobby Lashley is the AEW World Heavyweight Champion! He waited, watched, and struck at the most vulnerable moment imaginable!

Arn Anderson: And some of us would call that karma! MVP promised at Exodus that these men were here to hurt people… and I don’t think any man has ever felt the hurt that Hangman is going to be feeling when he wakes up and realizes what happened!

Kevin Kelly: The landscape in All Elite Wrestling has shifted exponentially! Thank you so much for joining us, we’ll see you next week on Dynamite!

The final shot of the night is Lashley on the turnbuckle, title in hand, overlooking the lifeless body of Hangman Page in the ring… as the Hurt Syndicate’s music plays once more.
