AEW Presents: Aftershock (8.25.24)

Live from Cleveland Browns Stadium | Cleveland, OH | Crowd Size: 73,200

The opening video, set to The Apologist by Glass City, showcases the road to Aftershock, with significant portions dedicated to the impending war between MJF and Armageddon, the one-on-one encounter between Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson, and Sami Zayn vs. Brock Lesnar.

SEGMENT ONE

The opening video concludes and the pyro explodes and Kevin Kelly and Arn Anderson welcome us to Aftershock, live in from of a sold out crowd in Cleveland. As they run down the card for tonight, they’re immediately cut off by A-Town Down Under’s music, followed by F.T.R.’s music, as Anderson notes we’re wasting no time in kicking off the biggest show of the summer with the AEW Tag Titles on the line!

Match # 1 | AEW Tag Team Championships
The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) (C) vs. F.T.R. (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)

With the challengers in the ring, the Acclaimed’s music hits and the tag team champions are out to a big pop. Max Caster’s got a microphone and the crowd listens up as one half of the champions prepares to speak his mind.

Max Caster: Yo! Listen! Yo! Yo!
Acclaimed on the mic, it’s about to be a problem
FTR says they’re the top guys,
But they about to be the bottoms

Max Caster: FTR, you’re a joke.
I think your name stands for Find the Remote.
You’re legacy’s such a fake
Y’all got Bret Hart matches in the spank bank.

Max Caster: And A-Town Down Under, I don’t believe this shit.
The only thing they can pump up is their penises.

Max Caster: And what more can I say?
In Cleveland, everyone loves the Acclaimed!

Anthony Bowens: Cleveland, Ohio!! The Acclaimed have arrived!

As soon as the Acclaimed get to the ring, FTR charges them as A-Town Down Under waits on the apron, despite their ability to have a man in the ring for the match. Dawson immediately clotheslines Caster to the outside, as Wilder remains in the ring with Bowens and the bell sounds. Grayson Waller is in the ring now, but lets the FTR and Acclaimed members go at one another.

Arn Anderson: FTR has had enough of the Acclaimed’s mouths, and they’re wasting no time in shutting them up!

Kevin Kelly: The war of words between these two teams has been building since Starrcade, and as much as we’d all love to see them rip one another apart, they cannot and should not underestimate A-Town Down Under.

Arn Anderson: It’s smart strategy from Waller and Theory to let these two teams pick one another apart.

Bowens and Wilder trade rights before they begin shoving one another, each talking trash to the other. Finally, Waller seizes the opportunity to get A-Town Down Under involved in the match, drop kicking Bowens and breaking up the fight.

Wilder makes it to his corner and tags Dawson, as Waller tags in Theory and Bowens tags in Caster. All three fresh men make it into the ring and begin trading blows, until Theory takes Caster down with a side headlock takedown. Theory gets to his feet and is thrown off guard by a flapjack from Dawson, clutching at his throat as he lands hard on the top rope. Another quick tag, and now Wilder is back in, as the two begin unloading on Caster and Theory with German suplexes.

FTR goes for the PowerPlex, but Caster gets his knees up, countering the hold. The ref is losing control of things as Waller reinserts himself, climbing to the top rope and launching at FTR with a 450 splash!

With FTR down and Waller down from the impact of the splash, Caster drills Theory with a DDT before ascending to the top rope, looking for the Mic Drop. He connects on Theory and goes for the cover, before Wilder breaks it up.

All six men are in the ring, brawling much to the ref’s dismay. FTR takes the Acclaimed to the outside with a double clothesline, sending the champs over the ropes. A-Town Down Under follows it up with a double suicide dive to the Acclaimed! There are bodies everywhere as FTR exit the ring, and the six men brawl up the ramp.

At the top of the stage, Dawson hits a suplex on Caster and Wilder powerslams Bowens. As FTR are picking up steam, A-Town Down Under catches them both off guard with a double superkick! The scoop the Acclaimed up and carry them to a nearby dumpster, tossing both men inside. Theory can be heard off mic calling them garbage, before pushing the dumpster off the stage!

The crowd chants holy shit as the EMTs rush to check on Bowens and Caster. Meanwhile, A-Town Down Under doesn’t have much time to celebrate as FTR battles them back down the ramp.

All four men get back into the ring and Dawson and Wilder take down Theory and Waller with spinebusters! The go for the the Shatter Machine on Waller, but Waller counters with a low blow to Dawson, as commentary points out this is all perfectly legal under triple threat rules. As Dawson clutches his nuts, Theory pops up out of nowhere and drills Wilder to the mat with the ATL! He rolls Wilder up and gets a foot on the ropes for extra leverage behind the ref’s back, and we’ve got new champions!!

Winners: A-Town Down Under (Theory & Waller)
Match Time: 16:02

SEGMENT TWO

In the parking lot, a black SUV pulls up and the doors pop open, Sami Zayn, the AEW World Heavyweight Champion and BWM Inc. Chairman exits, and as he gets to the stadium entrance Megan is waiting for him.

Megan Mouse-Zayn: There you are. How are you feeling tonight?

Sami takes a deep breath and smiles.

Sami Zayn: You know what, Megan? I’m feeling good. Focused. I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said to me on Monday—about how I’m the kind of man who always finds a way, who comes up with a victory plan even when things get tough.

Megan nods, listening intently.

Sami Zayn: And you’re right. After that attack from Lesnar Monday, I’ve done just that. It was a wake up call, and one that I needed. Tonight, I’m putting the curse behind me. No more paranoia, no stressing about Benny Mouse’s escape. Not tonight. We’ll deal with everything, one step at a time, but tonight? Tonight, I’m dealing with Lesnar.

Megan’s expression softens as she reaches out and places a hand on Sami’s arm.

Megan Mouse: I’m glad to hear that, Sami. I believe in you.

Sami looks into her eyes, the tension that’s been between them for weeks finally easing.

Sami Zayn: We’re on the same page, Megan. For the first time in a while, I feel like we’ve got this. Together. Besides, we’ve always been at our best when our backs are against the wall.

Megan smiles, the two sharing a moment of unity and understanding. Sami nods confidently, and they walk off together and the scene fades.

Match # 2 | Exhibition Match
Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Adam Page

Kenny Omega is out first, looking serious and focused. Hangman is out next to a mixed reaction, as Arn Anderson and Kevin Kelly discuss how things have gotten to this point between the former AEW Tag Team Champions.

Arn Anderson: What we’re bout to witness has been brewing for months. Kenny Omega and Adam Page, two men who were once not just partners but champions, have seen their friendship crumble. When they lost those tag titles, something broke inside of Page.

Kevin Kelly: That’s right, Arn. Page lost confidence in himself, and no matter what Omega has tried, Page just couldn’t move on.

Arn Anderson: And it all boiled over when Bryan Danielson beat Page on Monday, and later that week, Omega tried to pull him out of a bar, only to be met with a beer bottle smashed over his head. This isn’t just a match; it’s a fight between two men whose friendship has turned into bitter resentment.

Kevin Kelly: Talking to Kenny Omega this weekend, he told me that maybe Danielson was right about Page. And maybe it is time for him to move on from Hangman.

The bell sounds and Omega and Page immediately charge at one another.

Kevin Kelly: And here we go, folks! These two are wasting no time here in Cleveland!

Page backs Omega into the corner, hammering away with hard rights and lefts. Omega tries to cover up but Page’s fury is relentless. Omega manages to slip out and sends Page across the ring with a powerful Irish whip. Page charges at Omega, but Omega ducks, backdrops Page onto the apron, and hits a springboard clothesline that sends Page crashing to the outside!

Arn Anderson: That’s the Kenny Omega we all know and love—always thinking two steps ahead, always ready to turn the tide!

Omega follows Page to the floor, where he takes control with a series of strikes before rolling Page back into the ring. He hits a running reverse bulldog, covering for a quick two-count.

Kevin Kelly: Omega with the first cover, but it’s going to take a lot more than that to keep Hangman down.

Omega doesn’t waste any time, sending Page outside again and setting up for the Terminator dive. The crowd roars as Omega hits the dive, taking Page down and pumping himself up.

Back in the ring, Page cuts Omega off with a vicious kick to the face, sending him reeling. With Omega dazed, Page hits a suicide dive through the ropes, following up with a moonsault off the top rope to the floor, crashing onto Omega!

Kevin Kelly: What a sequence from Adam Page!

Arn Anderson: Hangman still has that fire, Kevin. Maybe this is exactly what Page needed—someone to push him to his limit.

The action returns to the ring, and Omega, still dazed, is hit with a springboard super Liger Bomb from Page, who covers for two.

Omega tries to shake it off, but Page follows up with a snapdragon suplex. Omega struggles to his feet, only to be caught with a V Trigger attempt, which Page counters into a victory roll for a close two-count!

Omega climbs to the top rope, but Page crotches him, biting at Omega and re-opening the cut on his head from the beer bottle Friday night. Page then hits a super flipping fallaway slam, covering for another two-count. Omega rolls to the floor, and Page follows with a huge clothesline from the top rope, but he seems to have hurt his knee in the process.

Kevin Kelly: Uh oh, I think Page tweaked his knee.

Back in the ring, Page misses a V Trigger attempt of his own, and Omega shoves the referee in the way of a charging Page. With the referee momentarily distracted, Omega capitalizes by slamming a knee into Page’s head, followed by more knees as Page crumbles.

Omega is pulling out all the stops here. He knows what’s on the line—his future in the main event scene, and his pride.

Page, dazed but not out, cuts Omega off and begins striking away. The two exchange brutal strikes, with Omega finally hitting a V Trigger. Page, almost on instinct, springs up with a discus elbow, but Omega fires back with some vicious Kawada kicks.

Arn Anderson: These two men are going blow for blow, they know each so well.

Page, after letting out an audible curse, comes back with a thunderous clothesline that drops Omega. He sets up for the Buckshot Lariat but hesitates, doubt creeping in.

Arn Anderson: Wait a minute, I think Hangman is starting to sober up here, Kevin. He’s realizing that Omega was always trying to help him.

Omega takes advantage of the hesitation, countering the Buckshot Lariat with a devastating V Trigger. With Page staggered, Omega lifts him up and delivers the One Winged Angel.

Omega covers Page for the pin, 1…2…3! Omega wins the match, standing tall over his former friend as the crowd roars.

Arn Anderson: And that’s it. Omega takes the victory, but at what cost? This friendship is done, Kevin. But maybe, just maybe, Page can finally move on and find himself again.

Kevin Kelly: What a match, and what a journey these two men have been on. Omega said he had to go through Page to move forward, and tonight, he did just that.

Winner: Kenny Omega
Match Time: 26:09

SEGMENT THREE

The camera cuts to a backstage shot of MJF, who is walking confidently through the hallways of the arena, heading toward the gorilla position. He’s focused, his trademark scarf draped around his neck, ready to make his entrance.

As MJF approaches the ramp, his determined expression suddenly shifts to one of shock and concern. Lying on the ground ahead of him, bloodied and seemingly unconscious, is Logan Paul. The sight of his friend in such a state stops MJF in his tracks.

MJF: Hey! Somebody get over here, now! We need help!

MJF kneels beside Logan Paul, visibly shaken as he shouts for help. Within moments, EMTs rush to the scene, quickly tending to Logan. MJF’s expression is one of genuine concern, followed by anger.

EMT: He’s in bad shape. We need to get him to the medical area, stat!

As the EMTs work to stabilize Logan Paul, MJF stands up, his hands clenched into fists, his face now a mask of fury.

MJF: [under his breath] Armageddon, you son of a bitch.

With one last look at Logan Paul being taken away by the EMTs, MJF turns and storms toward the ring. The camera follows closely, capturing every intense moment as MJF marches through the curtain and onto the ramp, the roar of the crowd greeting him.

Match #3 | No Holds Barred
MJF vs. Armageddon

Kevin Kelly: This is not what we expected tonight, Arn! MJF just found Logan Paul laid out backstage, and it looks like he’s convinced Armageddon is behind it! We all know the bad blood between these two after Retribution!

Arn Anderson: You can see it in MJF’s eyes, Kevin. This isn’t just about the title anymore—this is personal. Armageddon better be ready because MJF is out for blood tonight!

With MJF in the ring, the lights dim and the massive 800-pound beast emerges, towering over everything in sight as he makes his way to the ring. The crowd buzzes with a mix of awe and fear, knowing the destruction Armageddon is capable of.

As soon as Armageddon steps through the ropes, MJF attacks him, forcing Lance Storm to ring the bell to start the match.

Kevin Kelly: MJF has been waiting for this moment to get his revenge on Armageddon, but it’s no easy task to take down a monster like this!

Arn Anderson: MJF better have a plan because going toe-to-toe with an 800-pounder isn’t just dangerous—it’s downright suicidal!

MJF lands a few punches before Armageddon swats him away like a fly, ending him crashing into the turnbuckles. Armageddon is relentless, following up with a series of heavy forearm shots to MJF’s back, each blow echoing with a sickening thud. MJF slumps to the mat, trying to crawl away, but Armageddon grabs him by the ankle and yanks him back into the center of the ring.

Kevin Kelly: Armageddon is just toying with MJF. Look at the size of those hands!

Arn Anderson: This is what we were afraid of, Kevin. Armageddon’s strength is unmatched. Forget winning the match, MJF is just trying to survive out there!

Armageddon hoists MJF into the air and slams him down with a devastating powerslam, the ring shaking upon impact. The beast isn’t finished, though, as he steps outside and retrieves a steel chair from under the ring. MJF, still reeling from the slam, struggles to get to his feet, only to be met with a thunderous chair shot to the back, crumpling him to the mat again.

Kevin Kelly: Oh my God, did you hear that? Armageddon is using that chair like a weapon of mass destruction!

Armageddon continues to punish MJF with brutal chair shots, focusing on his back and ribs. MJF writhes in pain, but he refuses to give up. The monster seems to be enjoying the torment, raising the chair for one more shot, but MJF rolls out of the ring at the last second, desperately trying to create some distance.

As Armageddon steps over the top rope to follow MJF to the outside, MJF reaches under the ring and grabs a wooden baseball bat. Armageddon barely notices as MJF swings with all his might, cracking the bat across Armageddon’s knee! The beast grunts in pain, the first sign that he’s feeling the effects of MJF’s desperate strikes.

Kevin Kelly: MJF’s going for the knee! That might be the only way to chop this giant down!

MJF targets the knee repeatedly with the bat, each shot more vicious than the last. Armageddon finally drops to one knee, and MJF seizes the opportunity, driving the bat into Armageddon’s throat, choking him with the weapon. The monster gasps for air, but MJF doesn’t relent.

Kevin Kelly: MJF is using every dirty trick in the book to survive this!

Arn Anderson: It may not be pretty, but it’s effective!

With Armageddon weakened, MJF retrieves the steel chair and delivers a brutal shot to the knee, followed by another to the head, finally staggering the beast. The crowd roars as MJF, adrenaline pumping, sets up the chair and drives Armageddon’s face into it with a vicious DDT. The impact is sickening, but MJF doesn’t stop there. He pulls out a pair of brass knuckles from his tights, slipping them on as he waits for Armageddon to rise.

As Armageddon struggles to his feet, MJF charges forward and clocks him with the brass knuckles, right between the eyes. The giant wobbles, blood trickling from his forehead. MJF kicks him in the balls as hard as he can, as Armageddon, covered in blood, finally collapses!

MJF grabs his scarf and wraps it around the throat of the beast, choking him as hard as he can with it. Armageddon squirms, the blood gushing, before he finally stops moving all together. Lance Storm checks the arm, and Armageddon is choked out!!!

Exhausted but victorious, MJF finally rolls off the limp body of Armageddon as the crowd erupts.

Kevin Kelly: MJF has slayed the giant! Against all odds, he’s pulled off a victory against Armageddon!

MJF stands over the fallen Armageddon, raising his arm in victory, a defiant smirk on his face as he soaks in the moment.

Winner: MJF

SEGMENT FOUR

Match # 4 | Exhibition Match
‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson vs. ‘The Aerial Assassin’ Will Ospreay

The camera pans over the raucous, sold-out crowd in Cleveland, as fans are on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the clash between two of the world’s greatest wrestlers: Bryan Danielson and the debuting Will Ospreay. The introductions are made, and the two men finally stand across the ring from each other, their eyes locked in a tense staredown as Anderson and Kelly discuss the build for this match.

Arn Anderson: Kevin, I can’t remember the last time a debuting wrestler had so much hype around them like Will Ospreay does tonight. It’s been a long summer of anticipation, and here we are, finally ready to see if he lives up to the hype!

Kevin Kelly: Ospreay had to relinquish the IWGP World Championship when he signed with AEW, and watching his matches in Japan has been an absolute highlight of my career. I can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to the table tonight. But let’s not forget, Danielson has faced doubters before and proven them wrong every time. With Dragonfly retiring this summer, Danielson might just be the best wrestler in the world.

The bell rings, and the crowd erupts as the two men meet in the center of the ring. The atmosphere is electric, with chants of “Holy shit!” echoing throughout the arena as they stand face to face, both men smirking. They retreat to their corners before circling the ring, finally meeting in the middle. Ospreay reaches out for a test of strength, but Danielson twists his arm and grapples him to the mat. Ospreay quickly counters, flipping over Danielson and locking in a headlock. Danielson gets to his feet, the headlock still applied, and backs Ospreay into the ropes, forcing a clean break.

Arn Anderson: Ospreay needs to be careful here. Letting Danielson control the pace could be a big mistake.

They circle each other again, and Danielson takes Ospreay down with a side headlock takeover. Ospreay counters with a headscissors, but Danielson bridges out and locks in a quick surfboard. Ospreay wiggles free, and the two men are back on their feet, eyeing each other warily. They go for a test of strength, struggling for control. Ospreay starts to get the upper hand, but Danielson breaks his grip with a high kick to the wrist. They chain wrestle once more until Danielson breaks free, and the two men stand at a stalemate, the crowd buzzing with appreciation.

Kevin Kelly: These two are so evenly matched, it’s hard to tell who has the upper hand. This is what pure wrestling looks like!

Arn Anderson: They’re feeling each other out right now, but I have a feeling things are about to get real intense.

Back in the center of the ring, Danielson takes Ospreay down with another side headlock, but this time, while on the mat, he begins punching Ospreay in the face with the hold still locked in. The crowd boos, sensing the more aggressive side of Danielson coming out. Ospreay wrestles him back to a standing position and whips him into the ropes. Ospreay drops down as Danielson leaps over, and on the rebound, Ospreay catches him with a monkey flip. Danielson lands on his feet, though, and bounces into the ropes, going for a running knee. Ospreay moves, and Danielson crashes into the turnbuckle.

Kevin Kelly: That was close! Danielson almost caught Ospreay with that knee, but Ospreay’s speed saved him there.

Arn Anderson: Ospreay’s gotta stay one step ahead. One mistake, and Danielson will make him pay.

They tie up again, and Danielson takes Ospreay down with an armdrag, but Ospreay springboards back to his feet. Ospreay goes for a martial arts kick, but Danielson blocks it and flips Ospreay off, drawing boos from the crowd. Ospreay, unfazed, unloads with a series of stiff right hands, forcing Danielson to backpedal. Danielson fires back with some rights of his own before picking Ospreay’s ankle, attempting to go for the Cattle Mutilation. Ospreay wiggles free, and Danielson goes for a snapmare, but Ospreay lands on his feet and fires back with a dropkick that sends Danielson reeling.

Ospreay goes to throw Danielson into the ropes, but Danielson reverses it. Ospreay hits the ropes and catches Danielson with a hurricanrana. With Danielson on his knees, Ospreay fires off some forearms as Danielson slowly gets back to his feet, and Ospreay pushes him into the corner. Danielson fights back with a headbutt, forcing Ospreay to back off. Ospreay chops him, and Danielson fires back with a chop of his own. Danielson hits a series of uppercuts before sending Ospreay into the ropes again. Ospreay bounces back with a big boot that sends Danielson toppling to the outside.

With unbelievable quickness, Ospreay hits a springboard dive to the outside, crashing onto Danielson and sending the crowd into a frenzy. Ospreay rolls Danielson back into the ring and springboards off the top rope, but Danielson catches him with a stiff martial arts kick to his spleen. Ospreay crumples to the mat, and Danielson follows up with a series of Muay Thai knees, ending with a vicious kitchen sink!

Kevin Kelly: Danielson just turned the tide with that brutal combination! Ospreay’s in a world of hurt now!

Arn Anderson: This is where Danielson’s experience comes into play. He knows how to wear a man down, and he’s doing just that.

On the mat, Danielson applies an Indian Death Lock, grinding down Ospreay’s legs as referee Michael McMahon drops to the mat to see if Ospreay will tap. Ospreay, gritting his teeth, rolls them towards the ropes, forcing a break. Danielson, back on his feet, picks Ospreay up, and the two exchange chops, with Danielson getting the better of the exchange. Danielson sends Ospreay into the ropes and targets the kidneys with stiff strikes, but Ospreay reverses it, whipping Danielson into the opposite corner. Danielson runs to the ropes, jumps to the top, and backflips over Ospreay. He goes for a clothesline, but Ospreay ducks and hits a back handspring corkscrew kick!

Kevin Kelly: What a move by Ospreay!

Arn Anderson: But he’s gotta follow up! Danielson’s reeling, and Ospreay can’t let him recover.

Ospreay, adrenaline pumping, climbs to the top rope and goes for a 450 Splash, but Danielson rolls out of the way at the last second! Ospreay crashes hard onto the mat, and Danielson immediately capitalizes, locking in the LeBell Lock in the center of the ring! The crowd erupts as Ospreay struggles, his face writhing in pain! The referee checks on him, but Ospreay refuses to tap, slowly inching his way toward the ropes.

Kevin Kelly: Ospreay’s in trouble!

Arn Anderson: If he can’t reach those ropes, he’s done for!

Just as it seems Ospreay might tap, he manages to reach the ropes with his fingertips, forcing Danielson to break the hold. Frustrated, Danielson pulls Ospreay back to the center of the ring and goes for the Cattle Mutilation again, but Ospreay rolls through, reversing into a pinning predicament! The referee counts one, two, but Danielson kicks out at the last second!

Both men get to their feet, both utterly exhausted. They exchange stiff forearms in the center of the ring, neither man backing down. Ospreay ducks a wild swing from Danielson and nails him with a superkick, followed by a Poisonrana that spikes Danielson on his head! The crowd explodes as Ospreay signals for the end, climbing to the top rope once more.

Ospreay leaps off the top rope, going for the Oscutter, but Danielson catches him in mid-air, turning it into a devastating Regal-Plex! The impact leaves both men lying on the mat, the crowd on their feet, chanting “This is awesome!” The referee begins the ten count as both men struggle to get to their feet.

Kevin Kelly: What a counter by Danielson! But both men are down! Who’s going to get up first?

Arn Anderson: This is what All Elite Wrestling is all about! Two of the finest athletes on Earth, leaving it all in the ring here tonight at Aftershock!

At the count of eight, both men stagger to their feet, and Danielson goes for a running knee strike, but Ospreay ducks and catches him with a Spanish Fly out of nowhere! The crowd erupts as Ospreay climbs the ropes again, this time hitting a flawless 630 Senton! He hooks the leg as the referee counts one, two, thre–! DANIELSON KICKS OUT!

Frustrated, Ospreay pulls off his elbow pad and calls for his patented Hidden Blade strike. He charges at Danielson, who telegraphs it and counters it into the LeBell Lock once more! This time, however, Danielson is too close to the ropes and Ospreay forces a break almost instantly.

With Ospreay winded, Danielson gets to his feet. He points to the air, his signature Yes chant captivating an audience that seemingly hates him half the time, as he calls for the Busaiku Knee! As Ospreay struggles to his feet, Danielson charges after him with the Knee! Ospreay ducks it, and charges at Danielson again, this time connecting with the Hidden Blade elbow!

Arn Anderson: Ospreay got all of it!

Ospreay, riding on a wave of momentum, picks Danielson up and dumps him hard on his neck with the Tiger Driver 91! Danielson clutches his neck as Ospreay covers, and Lance Storm counts the 3!

Winner: Will Ospreay
Match Time: 29:50

As the bell sounds, Storm calls for a medic to check on Danielson’s neck. Ospreay looks conflicted, but celebrates the win as EMTs tend to the Dragon.

Match # 5 | AEW Knockouts Championship
Miss Athena Star (C) vs. ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm

Timeless Toni Storm makes her way to the ring, looking determined to add another trophy to her mantle as she promised Friday night on Chaos. Miss Athena Star, the reigning Knockouts Champion, follows, the crowd erupting in support as she confidently strides to the ring, her title glistening under the spotlight.

Arn Anderson: Kevin, we’ve seen a real transformation in Toni Storm these past few months since she took that nasty bump to the head. She now believes she’s a Hollywood star from the golden age of cinema, and tonight, she’s looking to take the Knockouts Championship as her next big ‘role.’

Kevin Kelly: It’s been quite a bizarre change, but oddly effective. She’s been more focused than ever, and Athena Star better be on her game tonight because Timeless Toni Storm is coming with everything she’s got.

The bell sounds and the two lock up, with Storm gaining the early advantage by grounding Athena Star. However, Star quickly counters with a headscissors, only for Storm to escape and regroup. They lock up again, and Athena Star maneuvers into a slick escape, showcasing her agility. Storm responds with a basement dropkick, catching Star off guard and earning a quick two-count.

Kevin Kelly: Storm knows that Athena’s speed and high-flying abilities are her biggest weapons. Keep her on the mat, and Storm might just walk out with the title.

Storm follows up with a series of stiff forearm strikes, but Athena Star counters with a sharp dropkick, sending Storm reeling. Star quickly capitalizes, laying the boots to Storm and following up with a series of knee strikes, earning a two-count. Star transitions into a Rings of Saturn variation, bending Storm’s arms back in a painful submission hold. Storm writhes in pain, struggling before inching towards the ropes.

Arn Anderson: We’ve not seen Athena Star use a lot of submission holds in her two-decades in the ring.

Kevin Kelly: That’s what makes her so dangerous, Arn. Just when you think you can telegraph her, she busts out something new!

Arn Anderson: You’re right about that, Kevin. It’s been a Hall of Fame worthy career for the innovator of the Knockouts Division, and she’s made no secrets about the fact that 2024 could very well be her final year as a full time competitor.

Storm finally reaches the ropes, forcing the break. She quickly gets back to her feet and delivers a series of kicks to Athena Star, catching her off guard. With a burst of power, Storm plants Star with a wicked German suplex. The crowd gasps as Storm hits the ropes and connects with her running hip attack, sending Star crashing to the mat. Storm climbs to the top rope, but Athena Star pops up with a kip-up and does a handspring into the corner, contorting with the head-scissors to send Storm flying to the outside!

Arn Anderson: What a counter by Athena Star! Just when you think Storm’s got the upper hand, Star turns the tables!

As Storm recovers on the outside, Athena Star climbs to the top rope and launches herself off with a spectacular twisting senton, crashing onto Storm and sending the crowd into a frenzy. They battle to the apron, where Storm surprises Star with a sudden headbutt, followed by a German suplex right onto the apron! The crowd gasps at the impact as Storm rolls Star back into the ring and covers, but only gets a two-count.

Kevin Kelly: How did Athena kick of that?!

Storm continues her assault with a series of forearm strikes, but Athena Star fights back, and the two women trade blows in the center of the ring. Star fires up, unleashing a barrage of punches before hitting Storm with a palm strike that sends her staggering. Star charges, but Storm catches her with a brutal lariat, nearly decapitating the champion. The crowd is on their feet as Storm signals for the Storm Zero. She lifts Star up and plants her with the move, but Star kicks out at two, shocking the crowd and Storm herself!

Arn Anderson: That’s the heart of a champion, Kevin. Athena Star refuses to stay down!

Desperation sets in for Storm as she drags Star to the apron. She tries to stun Star off the ropes, but Star catches her with a quick elbow to the face. With Storm dazed, Star hits a 619, sending Storm crashing back into the ring. Star launches herself off the top rope, connecting with a picture-perfect 4:20 splash! She covers her as the referee counts…

1…

2…

2.9999! Toni Storm kicks out of the 4:20 Splash! The crowd is on their feet as Star is beside herself. Athena plants Storm with a tornado DDT before climbing back to the top rope, looking for her finisher once more. This time, Storm rolls out of the way, sending Star crashing hard onto the mat!

Kevin Kelly: Athena’s down, but can Storm capitalize?

Storm seizes the opportunity, grabbing Star and looking for another Storm Zero. However, as she lifts Star up, the champion counters, rolling Storm up out of nowhere! The referee drops down to count, and before Storm can react, it’s over. The referee counts three, and Athena Star retains her title, the crowd erupting in cheers!

Kevin Kelly: What a finish! Athena Star pulls it out with that quick roll-up, and she’s still the Knockouts Champion!

Arn Anderson: Toni Storm came so close, but Athena Star showed why she’s the champ. She found a way to win, even when it looked like Storm had her number.

Kevin Kelly: I’ve got a feeling we’ve not seen the last of this rivalry, Arn.

Athena Star rolls out of the ring, clutching her championship as the crowd cheers her on. Storm sits in the ring, stunned, as the reality of the loss sinks in. Star holds her title high, celebrating with the fans as she makes her way up the ramp, leaving Storm in shock in the center of the ring as the scene fades.

Winner: Miss Athena Star

Sami Zayn (C) vs. Brock Lesnar

As both competitors are introduced, the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar stares down Sami Zayn, who holds his AEW World Heavyweight Championship tightly, knowing the challenge that lies ahead.

Arn Anderson: Sami Zayn is walking into this match with everything to lose. Brock Lesnar is a wrecking machine, and tonight, he’s looking to tear Sami apart.

Kevin Kelly: Sami’s been walking around with the AEW World Heavyweight Championship since Memorial Day, and tonight marks his first and what could also be his last title defense.

Arn Anderson: Sami’s had a lot of irons in the proverbial fire this summer, and you have to believe that wherever MJF is, he’s watching this one closely.

Kevin Kelly: I’ve been told that Sami Zayn has deployed Megan Mouse and Big Bossman to make sure no one gets involved in this match, because despite what Zayn said earlier tonight, you’ve got to believe he’s looking over his shoulder for Danhausen and the Boogeyman.

As the bell sounds, Lesnar immediately overpowers Zayn, driving him into the corner with ease. Lesnar begins unloading with brutal shoulder thrusts to Sami’s midsection, each one forcing the air out of his lungs. Sami tries to cover up, but Lesnar grabs him by the waist and hurls him across the ring with a belly-to-belly suplex.

Arn Anderson: The power of Brock Lesnar is just overwhelming.

Sami struggles to his feet, but Lesnar is already on him, lifting him up for a second suplex. Zayn crashes to the mat, clutching his back in agony. Lesnar doesn’t give him a moment to breathe, yanking him up and delivering a thunderous German suplex that sends Sami sprawling across the ring.

Kevin Kelly: This is kind of hard to watch… Brock Lesnar is tossing him around like a ragdoll!

Arn Anderson: Good! The arrogant prick deserves it!

Kevin Kelly: Careful now, we both know how vengeful and petty Sami Zayn can be,

Lesnar stalks Sami, who crawls to the ropes, using them to pull himself up. Lesnar charges, but Sami ducks, sending Lesnar over the top rope to the outside! The crowd boos, giving Sami a moment to catch his breath.

Arn Anderson: Sami proved in the Total Anarchy match with Splinter Memorial Day weekend that he can pull out the stops when his back is against the wall, and I think we’re seeing him do that again here tonight.

Sami sees his opportunity and hits the ropes, diving through with a suicide dive that barely moves Lesnar, but it buys Sami some precious seconds. Sami rolls back into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle, waiting for Lesnar to get to his feet. He leaps off with a high crossbody, but Lesnar catches him in mid-air, showing his monstrous strength.

Kevin Kelly: Unbelievable strength by Brock Lesnar!

Lesnar, with a sadistic grin, spins Sami around and plants him with a spine-shattering F-5 on the outside! Sami lands with a thud that draws gasps from the audience. Sami lies motionless, and Lesnar drags him back into the ring, looking to finish the job.

Arn Anderson: Sami Zayn is out cold!

Lesnar makes the cover, but the referee is out of position, and it gives Sami a split second to kick out at two! Lesnar is furious, glaring at the referee as Sami somehow manages to stay in the match.

Kevin Kelly: Sami Zayn is still alive, but for how much longer?

Lesnar, seething with rage, lifts Sami for another F-5, but this time, as he spins, Sami’s leg catches the referee, knocking him out cold! The ref crumples to the mat, leaving the match without an official.

As Lesnar realizes what’s happened, he’s blindsided by a chair shot to the back! It’s Liv Morgan, swinging with all her might! But Lesnar barely budges, slowly turning around to face her with a look of fury. Liv’s face turns pale as she drops the chair and backs away in terror.

Kevin Kelly: Liv Morgan just made the biggest mistake of her life! Lesnar looks like he’s about to snap!

Lesnar chases Liv around the ring, but before he can reach her, Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser leap the barricade and ambush him from behind! The TV Champion and his associate rain down blows on Lesnar, catching him off guard. The crowd is in shock as Arn Anderson connects the dots.

Arn Anderson: This must be the plan Sami was talking about earlier! Gunther and Kaiser have aligned themselves with the champion!

Gunther delivers a devastating powerbomb to Lesnar on the outside, and with the referee still down, Kaiser and Gunther roll Lesnar back into the ring. Sami, groggy but aware, seizes the moment. He pulls himself up and delivers a Helluva Kick to the side of Lesnar’s head, sending him stumbling into the ropes. Sami then somehow musters the strength to hit a Blue Thunder Bomb, collapsing on top of Lesnar for the pin as the referee slowly regains consciousness.

Arn Anderson: Not like this!

The referee slowly counts…

1…

2…

3!!!

The bell rings, and Sami Zayn retains his AEW World Heavyweight Championship. The crowd erupts in boos as Sami, battered and bruised, manages to smile through the pain, clutching his title to his chest.

Arn Anderson: I can’t believe it! Sami Zayn just pulled off the impossible with the help of Gunther and Kaiser!

Kevin Kelly: What a despicable way to win, but Sami Zayn is still the champion. The question now is, what does this alliance mean for the future of AEW?

As the show fades to black, Sami Zayn stands tall in the ring, the AEW World Heavyweight Championship held high above his head, while Gunther and Kaiser stand beside him!
