PRESS RELEASE: The Birth of ULW

Joint Headquarters of ULW

Columbus, OH

June 5th, 2024

The following press release was submitted jointly by the leadership of Undisputed League Wrestling:

To the fans of Professional Wrestling,

We know that you have questions and concerns as we recover from the chaotic end of the Sixth Era of this great industry. Only 8 days removed from “Armageddon 4: Mickey’s Endgame” – which was the fifth-highest rated show of all time -, we have had an overwhelming cascade of phone calls, emails, texts, and press inquiries flood in pertaining to everything that we saw, everything we are preparing to see, the draft, and even our new company name.

First and foremost, before we proceed, it must be stated that our hearts go out to the loved ones of the two men – regardless of what we think of them – who sadly lost their lives at the end of our broadcast. More will be said about each of them in just 2 weeks during the week of the WOW Draft and Starrcade, but it can’t be understated in any realistic sense just how much they meant to our industry, as well as the people who still love them. May they rest in peace.

Secondly, it is incumbent upon us to confirm that Mmouse Enterprises will cease to exist, except as part of the legacy of wrestling now owned (alongside Brown Inc. and the MDC Initiative) by our new corporate entity – conceived by the leadership trio of Ted Dibiase, Catherine Mouse, and Ted Brown -, known as “Cash Mouse Entertainment”. This communiqué will serve as the final addition to Mmouse Enterprises and its history.

Thirdly, our draft exemptions list will be included at the bottom of this release, but it is crucial to share some vital news pertinent to this list: the retirement of former Undisputed Champion, Dragonfly. This news was reluctantly received by our trio, as we had hoped to see him continue his legendary career into the new era, but he has promised to offer some final words at the Award ceremony coming in 2 weeks.

There are a few more very heartbreaking retirements as well, but you will see those momentarily (each retirement will be discussed more at length in our next press release).

The official website – which, like the other wrestling websites, will exist via the WOW web experience – will be set up and published by the end of the week, and it will include all of the important details that you have come to expect from such sites in the modern age.

A number of noteworthy features will be a new and improved roster page, which itself will include the contracted legends as well as the administration of ULW (the details of our leadership will be posted by tomorrow night) as presented in a clear and easy-to-understand approach. Furthermore, pertinent to this particular aspect of our company, we want to assure you that the days of overly-complicated rosters – with confusing “class” and “sub-class” distinctions, as well as needless ranks – will be a thing of the past. While there will be a “Premier League” and an “Extreme League”, we will not be completely dividing up the active roster. Only a limited group of stars from the company will be exclusive to each league; and those details will be further revealed in the days to come.

Regarding championships, we need to confirm that all of the titles active at Armageddon 4 will remain active as they will be grandfathered-in to ULW. However, there will be one noteworthy change: the rules regarding the Extreme Title will no longer require that one participant gets lacerated in order for there to be a winner. We have elected to keep alive these championships for the purpose of capitalizing on their celebrated legacy and prestige. Their lineages will remain intact, though, it should be made clear that our new ULW Championships page will only list the histories starting with the existing champions as of inception of this company.

With respect to the “Rules” of ULW, there will be very few, and they will be easy to follow and enforce. Lessons have been learned from the convoluted nature of Mmouse Enterprises, and we aim to avoid repeating the mistakes seen on Mickey’s watch.

Lastly, there is some important news which needs to be shared regarding the upcoming era, but that will be saved for the next update. However, the one thing here that we can share is that we will have 3 shows each week, starting in the fall, with one show a week starting on July 1st, 2024. The names for those shows will be: Aggression, Intensity, and Animosity. Again, there will be more to come, and it is news you will not want to miss.

While there will be so much more to cover regarding this new company, we understand that most of you are reading this to find out who ULW will be exempting from the 2024 WOW Draft, so here it is:
