AEW Dynamite #026 (5.20.24)

Live from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum | Ft. Wayne, IN | Crowd Size: 13,200

SEGMENT ONE

The scene opens with grainy security camera footage shot in a hallway of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The timestamp in the corner flickers, showing it’s just moments before AEW Dynamite is set to go live.

Sami Zayn, looking visibly agitated, is pacing back and forth outside of his office. His phone is pressed tightly to his ear, his expression a mix of frustration and urgency. The muffled sound of his voice can be heard, gradually becoming clearer as the camera zooms in slightly.

Sami Zayn: [on the phone] You’re not getting cold feet are you?

Zayn pauses a beat.

Sami Zayn: You’ve had chance after chance!

There’s another brief pause before Zayn continues, his voice more firm and demanding.

Sami Zayn: It’s time to pull the trigger! No more excuses!

He stops pacing and stands still for a moment, running a hand through his hair, taking a deep breath. He closes his eyes, composing himself, and with a final exhale, he hangs up the phone. The tension in his face fades into a confident, almost devious grin.

Sami turns towards the door of the office, the placard beside it reading “BWM Inc. Co-Chairmen: Sami Zayn & Benny Mouse.” He opens the door and steps inside, his demeanor now completely transformed into one of cool composure and cheerfulness. The camera lingers in a fixed position, but we can see the back of Zayn’s head as he steps into the office.

Sami Zayn: Benny! Good to see you. Ready for another great show tonight?

The office door closes and the camera lingers on the closed office door, the muffled conversation inside continuing as the shot fades out, transitioning into the opening montage of AEW Dynamite.

At ringside, Arn Anderson and Kevin Kelly welcome us to the final episode of Dynamite of the era, and the go-home show before our third PPV and “Series Finale” Retribution, live this Sunday on PPV.

Kelly and Anderson say that while they’re looking forward to some much needed time off heading into Starrcade and the World of Wrestling Draft, they expect the so-called “off-season” to be filled with news and memorable moments.

Match #1 | Six Man Tag Team Match
The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & The Usos) vs. MJF, Scott Steiner, & Wardlow)

Following their introduction, The Bloodline—Roman Reigns, Jimmy, and Jey Uso—stand in the ring, awaiting the arrival of their opponents. Arn Anderson says there were some justified criticisms about the lifted suspension of the Usos to allow them to compete in this match, but says he’s not sure why fans and pundits expected fairness from the two men running things around here.

The arena lights dim, and MJF’s theme music hits, drawing a mix of boos and cheers from the audience. MJF, dressed in his signature Burberry scarf, adorned with the AEW World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, steps out onto the ramp with a microphone in hand. The music fades as he raises the mic to his lips, signaling for silence.

MJF: Cut the music! Cut the music!

The arena goes silent, the crowd hanging on the champion’s every word.

MJF: Now, I know you’re all excited to see tonight’s six man tag match, but there’s been a little misunderstanding. You see, AEW management thinks they can just schedule Wardlow in a match without my permission. Let me make one thing crystal clear—Wardlow does not work for AEW. He works for me.

The crowd starts to boo, and MJF sneers, enjoying their reaction.

MJF: Oh, boo all you want, but the fact is, Wardlow is still serving out his punishment for his embarrassing loss a few weeks back. He’s not stepping foot in this ring tonight, because when you disappoint MJF, you pay the price!

MJF: So, instead of Wardlow, my partners tonight will be… the Genetic Freak, Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner, and, dare I say it, my friend and the social media sensation himself, Logan Paul!

As MJF finishes his announcement, Logan Paul’s music hits, and the camera shifts to the entrance ramp where Steiner and Logan Paul make their way out. Steiner flexes his massive biceps, while Logan Paul smirks, soaking in the reaction from the audience.

As the bell sounds, Roman Reigns demands that MJF get into the ring with him. MJF fakes like he’s going to start the match off as Roman wants, but then he sends in Scott Steiner instead.

Kevin Kelly: As expected, MJF is playing it smart, sending in Scott Steiner.

In the ring, Roman Reigns and Scott Steiner circle each other before locking up in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. The power struggle is intense, but Roman Reigns manages to overpower Steiner, pushing him back into the corner. The referee steps in to break it up, and Steiner glares at Reigns, shaking off the surprise of being overpowered. Paul makes the quick tag and jumps into the ring.

With a cocky smirk, Logan Paul steps up to Roman Reigns. He delivers a series of quick, stiff jabs to Reigns’ face, each one landing with precision. Reigns stumbles back slightly, surprised by the intensity of Paul’s strikes. Logan Paul then drops down, executing a swift waist lock slam, taking Reigns to the mat.

Kevin Kelly: Whether you like the man or not, you have to give Logan Paul his credit where it’s due. The man isn’t just a social media star, he can go in the ring!

Logan Paul quickly gets to his feet and tags Scott Steiner back in. Steiner re-enters the ring with a determined look, grabbing Reigns and lifting him high above his head with a powerful gorilla press slam. Reigns crashes to the mat with a thunderous impact, and Steiner goes for the cover. Roman Reigns kicks out with authority, and the crowd roars with approval. Steiner, unfazed, pulls Reigns up and looks to continue his assault.

Roman is finally able to neutralize Steiner, and makes the tag to Jimmy Uso. Steiner makes a tag of his own, and Logan Paul comes into the fray once more. The crowd erupts as Jimmy, fresh and full of energy, bursts into the ring.

Jimmy Uso immediately takes Logan Paul down with a series of rapid strikes. He then delivers a thunderous superkick that sends Scott Steiner flying off the apron and crashing to the floor below. Logan Paul struggles to his feet and attempts to fight back, landing a suplex on Jimmy, followed by an impressive frog splash from the top rope. The impact leaves Jimmy winded, but he manages to kick out at two.

Logan Paul scrambles to his corner and tags in MJF, who strides into the ring with a smug expression. He seizes control, grounding Jimmy Uso and preventing him from tagging out. As Jimmy desperately reaches for Roman, MJF taunts him, getting right in Roman’s face. Roman, incensed, tries to enter the ring but is held back by the referee, who admonishes him for not staying in his corner. MJF seizes the opportunity and delivers a low blow to Jimmy Uso, quickly covering him for a pin.

Jimmy Uso kicks out at the last second, and the crowd goes wild. The ring descends into chaos as all six men begin brawling, with the referee struggling to maintain control.

Arn Anderson: Absolute pandemonium in the ring! The referee has lost all semblance of control here!

In the melee, Roman Reigns finally gets the hot tag. As soon as he enters, MJF, who had been dominating Jimmy, scrambles to tag in Scott Steiner and then starts to back away, indicating he wants no part of Reigns.

Kevin Kelly: And here comes Roman Reigns! But look at MJF, he’s trying to bail out of this match!

Roman Reigns levels Scott Steiner with a massive spear and goes for the pin. The referee drops to count, but suddenly, the arena lights go out, plunging everything into darkness. The crowd gasps and murmurs in confusion.

Arn Anderson: What the hell is going on here?

When the lights come back on, the titantron flickers to life, revealing a shocking scene. High Minded—Hogan, Riddle, Nash, Hall, and Savage—are in the hospital room of Yokozuna and Umaga. They are mercilessly beating down the injured Samoan superstars, leaving them helpless on their beds.

Back in the ring, Roman Reigns stands frozen, staring at the screen in horror and rage. The distraction is enough for MJF, who has snuck back into the ring, to capitalize. He grabs the AEW World Heavyweight Championship and smashes it across the back of Reigns’ head, dropping him to the mat. The referee, still dazed from the earlier chaos, misses the belt shot as he turns back to the action. Steiner makes a tag to Logan Paul, as Logan and MJF scream for the ref to make the count. As the ref counts, Steiner and MJF neutralize the Usos and Logan gets the three count over the Tribal Chief!

The bell rings as the crowd erupts into boos, and MJF stands triumphant, smirking as he raises Paul’s hand in victory as the trio makes a quick exit. Roman Reigns lies in the ring, clutching his head in pain, his eyes burning with fury as he glares up at MJF as the champ retreats.

Arn Anderson: MJF and his team have stolen this match, but at what cost? I’ve never seen Roman Reigns look so furious!

Winners: MJF, Logan Paul, & Scott Steiner
Match Time: 16:11

MJF, Logan Paul, and Scott Steiner make their exit up the ramp, basking in the boos and jeers from the crowd. Inside the ring, the Usos rush to help Roman Reigns to his feet. The scene on the titantron shifts to Hulk Hogan, standing amidst the chaos in the hospital room, laughing jovially as Yokozuna and Umaga are knocked out cold.

Hulk Hogan: [laughing] Oh, brother, look at this chaos! This is what happens when you mess with High Minded!

The camera zooms in on Hogan’s face, his laughter echoing throughout the arena. In the background, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are trying to take selfies with the unconscious Yokozuna and Umaga, while Riddle is attempting to move their massive limbs into yoga poses.

Hulk Hogan: Roman, Roman, Roman. I know you’re watching this, and I know you want this fun—uh, war—to end just as badly as we do. But here’s the deal, brother: I’ll keep High Minded out of your business at Retribution. No sneak attacks, no interference. You can have your title match clean. But in return, you’ve got to give us what we want.

Roman Reigns, with the Usos supporting him, glares at the screen, his jaw clenched in frustration.

Hulk Hogan: You accept our challenge: The Bloodline versus High Minded at Starrcade! One final battle to settle this once and for all. What do you say, Roman? Do you have the guts to face us on the grandest stage?

Roman Reigns snatches a microphone, fed up with High Minded’s antics.

Roman Reigns: You want this war to end at Starrcade? Fine. You’re on. The Bloodline versus High Minded, and we’re gonna end this once and for all. But Hogan, let me make one thing clear—when this is over, there will be no more yoga poses, no more selfies. The laughter stops. I’m going to kick all of your old asses!

Hulk Hogan: [nodding] Well, brother, you’ve got yourself a deal. Starrcade it is. And believe me, Roman, we’re not backing down. We’ll see you and your family in the ring. And after we win, maybe you can join us for a yoga session!

Kevin Kelly: Well, there you have it! It’s official! The stakes couldn’t be higher, Arn. This feud has reached a boiling point, and Starrcade will be the ultimate battleground. What a night this has been, and we’re just getting started!

SEGMENT TWO

Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega, the AEW World Tag Team Champions, are lounging on a couple of crates backstage, casually chatting with the Phenomenal AJ Styles. The atmosphere is relaxed, with laughter and friendly banter filling the air.

AJ Styles: So, how are you boys feeling heading into your tag title match with the Acclaimed on Sunday?

Hangman Adam Page: [smirking] Not too worried, AJ. Don’t get me wrong, Castor and Bowens are talented, but they’re still pretty new to this. Speaking from experience, it takes a while to get acclimated to the big leagues.

Kenny Omega: Yeah, we’ve been through the wringer. They’ve got spirit, but we’ve got the experience and the chemistry to back it up.

Before AJ can respond, the American Dragon Bryan Danielson walks into the frame, looking determined but composed.

Bryan Danielson: [sincerely] Look, I’m asking you all nicely, one more time, can we put Genesis behind us and move forward as friends? I was blinded by opportunity, and becoming the heavyweight champion was a lifetime goal of mine. AJ, you can’t blame me for taking my shot.

AJ Styles: [angrily] That’s bullshit, Bryan. If you’d asked, I would have given you a title match. Instead, you attacked me and demanded the title shot. I will never forgive you for your betrayal. And tonight, I’m going to defeat you in the Battle for Exemption.

Danielson looks to Page and Omega, searching for any sign of support or forgiveness.

Bryan Danielson: [pleading] Kenny, Hangman, do you feel the same way? Can’t we move past this?

Hangman Adam Page: [shaking his head] We want nothing to do with you, Bryan. You made your bed, now you have to lie in it.

Kenny Omega: [coldly] You shouldn’t call yourself the American Dragon, Bryan. More like the American Snake, because you’d step over your own mother just to get what you want.

Danielson’s face hardens, realizing there’s no reconciliation to be found here.

Bryan Danielson: [angrily] You’re all making a mistake you’ll live to regret. AJ, if you want to do this the hard way, I have no problem with that.

Danielson turns and walks off, tension radiating from his every step. AJ Styles glares after him, fists clenched in determination.

AJ Styles: [yelling] I’ll see you in the ring tonight, Bryan!

The camera lingers on AJ Styles, Hangman Page, and Kenny Omega, united in their resolve, as the scene fades out, building anticipation for the showdown to come later in the night.

The camera picks up as Benny Mouse, Co-Chairman of BWM Inc., steps out of his office and heads down the hallway. As he rounds the corner, he’s intercepted by Master Splinter, who approaches him with a mix of determination and urgency.

Master Splinter: Benny, I won’t pretend that we’ve ever been friends. But I’ve dedicated the bulk of my career to your companies because I’ve always respected you. You built yourself from nothing to become one of the most powerful wrestling promoters of all time, just as I built myself from nothing to become the greatest superstar of all time.

Benny Mouse pauses, his expression inscrutable, as Splinter continues his emotional plea.

Master Splinter: It’s why I feel compelled to warn you, Benny. Sami Zayn isn’t truly your friend. He’s a power-hungry wolf in sheep’s clothing. How can’t you see what the rest of the world sees? Sami is taking advantage of a sick man for his own power and control. Before you know it, he’ll betray you and take everything you hold dear, because that’s the kind of man he is.

Benny Mouse’s face hardens, and he steps closer to Splinter, his voice low and measured.

Benny Mouse: There was a time I really valued your opinion, Splinter. But your criticisms of Sami? They’re applicable to me, as well. That’s what I admire in Sami—we’re one and the same.

Splinter’s eyes widen in shock, but Benny continues, his tone becoming more passionate. His words reverberate with a level of clarity and confidence that we’ve not seen since his dementia diagnosis was revealed.

Benny Mouse: Everyone in the Mouse family is so hellbent on destroying the industry for their own egos. And if they can’t destroy it, they won’t be happy until they rid pro-wrestling of the Mouse family. I’m actually the victim in all of this. I’ve done nothing but deliver the best product in the business, yet my own brothers are calling for me to be removed from my position of power!

Splinter steps forward, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Master Splinter: Benny, you’re sick… You should be spending the rest of the time you’ve got with your daughter, reconciling with your family, instead of pimping her out to Sami for power. Is this what you want your legacy to be?

Benny Mouse’s face twists with a mixture of sadness and resolve as he shakes his head.

Benny Mouse: Face it, Splinter. This is all I have left! I’ll be damned if I’m just going to waste away in obscurity as my brain rots.

Benny’s expression shifts to one of cold finality.

Benny Mouse: It’s a shame your career will come to a close this Sunday because you can’t leave it alone.

Splinter’s eyes blaze with determination as he leans in closer.

Master Splinter: When Sami betrays you… and I said WHEN not IF… don’t come crawling to me because I tried to warn you.

The two men lock eyes, the tension between them evident. Finally, they part ways, each heading in opposite directions, the gravity of their confrontation hanging heavy in the air.

Back at ringside, Arn Anderson and Kevin Kelly discuss the gravity of what we just saw ahead of tonight’s contract signing for the Total Anarch: All Elite match at Retribution. Kelly says this was the first admission from Benny Mouse about his diagnosis, and that he can’t help but feel a little sorry for Benny because he’s right, he has nothing outside of this industry. Anderson says that’s of his on volition, and Molly Mouse tried to give him an in back with his family and he slapped her in the face!

Match #2 | Exhibition Match
The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) vs. S.C.U. (Christopher Daniels & Scorpio Sky)

With SCU in the ring, the Acclaimed’s music hits and the number one contenders step through the curtain to a mostly positive reaction from the crowd in Ft. Wayne.

Max Caster: Yo, yo, yo! Listen!
The Acclaimed in the house
We got some words for the champions, let’s call ’em out
Hangman Page, you’re not hung well, man, it’s a shame,
Should’ve kept that cowboy shtick outta this game.
Kenny Omega, you’re no mega star,
Go back to Japan, that’s where the indie leagues are.
We’re the future, the fire, the ones you can’t contain,
This is our era, The Acclaimed in the main!
So get ready, champs, your run’s about to end,
Bow down to The Acclaimed, ’cause we’re the new trend.

Anthony Bowens: Ft. Wayne!!! The Acclaimed have arrived!

The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) stand confidently in the ring, hyping up the crowd. Their opponents, S.C.U. (Scorpio Sky and Christopher Daniels), prepare for the match, eager to prove themselves. The bell rings and the match begins.

Max Caster starts off against Scorpio Sky. They lock up, but Caster quickly gains control with a headlock, followed by a series of quick punches to Sky’s midsection. He tags in Bowens, who delivers a powerful clothesline to Sky, taking him down.

Bowens keeps Sky grounded with a series of stomps before lifting him for a suplex. Sky tries to fight back, but Bowens tags Caster back in. Caster hits a running knee to Sky’s head, sending him reeling. Caster then taunts Christopher Daniels, who tries to enter the ring but is stopped by the referee.

Kevin Kelly: Smart strategy by The Acclaimed, keeping Sky isolated from his partner.

Caster drags Sky to their corner and tags Bowens back in. They hit a double team move, with Bowens executing a backbreaker and Caster delivering a leg drop. Bowens goes for the cover, but Sky kicks out at two.

Arn Anderson: Scorpio Sky showing resilience, but he needs to make that tag to Daniels.

Sky tries to crawl to his corner, but Bowens pulls him back, locking in a chinlock. Sky fights to his feet and delivers a series of elbows to Bowens’ midsection, breaking the hold. He runs to his corner and tags in Christopher Daniels, who comes in hot with a flurry of offense. Daniels hits Bowens with a spinning heel kick and follows up with a DDT to Caster, who had entered the ring.

Daniels whips Bowens into the ropes and hits a blue thunder bomb. He goes for the pin, but Caster breaks it up at two. Scorpio Sky re-enters the ring, taking Caster out with a dropkick. The referee struggles to regain control as all four men are in the ring.

Bowens and Daniels are the legal men. Bowens manages to hit Daniels with a knee to the gut, followed by a swinging neckbreaker. He tags in Caster, who climbs to the top rope. Bowens lifts Daniels onto his shoulders, and Caster hits the Mic Drop (elbow drop) from the top rope.

Kevin Kelly: The Mic Drop! This could be it!

Caster covers Daniels as Bowens knocks Sky off the apron. The referee counts to three.

Arn Anderson: And there it is! The Acclaimed with a statement victory heading into their tag title match this Sunday!

The Acclaimed celebrate in the ring, their confidence boosted by the decisive win. S.C.U. regroup outside the ring, nursing their wounds as they look on.

Kevin Kelly: If they bring this level of intensity to Retribution, Hangman and Omega could be in serious trouble.

Arn Anderson: o doubt about it, Kevin. The Acclaimed are ready, and they’ve just sent a clear message to the champions.

Winners: The Acclaimed
Match Time: 8:58

SEGMENT THREE

Paul Heyman sits alone in the Bloodline’s locker room, surrounded by a stack of documents. He flips through them with a furrowed brow, deep in thought. Suddenly, the door bursts open, and Roman Reigns storms in, his frustration palpable.

Roman Reigns: Where the hell were you tonight, Paul?

Heyman looks up, taken aback by Roman’s intensity. He tries to remain composed as Roman continues, his voice rising with anger.

Roman Reigns: I told you, I need everyone focused on one thing—my quest to become the AEW World Heavyweight Champion at Retribution. But you’re too busy dealing with Lesnar, and the Usos are too busy with High Minded. I’m sick of it!

Heyman rises from his seat, trying to placate Roman.

Paul Heyman: Roman, calm down. We have to deal with this Lesnar dilemma before it blows up in our faces. Trust me, I can handle both—

Roman Reigns: [interrupting] Handle both? Everything else has blown up in my face lately! Why should this be any different?

Heyman takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a document.

Paul Heyman: Because I have some good news for you, Roman. I worked out a deal with Sami Zayn to keep MJF’s posse barred from ringside at Retribution. Of course, you’ll have to agree to do the same with the Bloodline, but we both know you’ve got MJF’s number in a fair one on one fight.

Roman’s expression softens slightly, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

Roman Reigns: Finally, some good news. I’m sorry for freaking out, Paul.

Heyman waves off Roman’s apology, his gaze steady.

Paul Heyman: It’s okay, Roman. Heavy is the head that wears the Ulafalla. But mark my words, all of this will pay off at Retribution. In six short days, you’ll have your first world title.

Roman smiles at the thought.

Paul Heyman: We’re in this together, Roman. And we will emerge victorious.

The two men share a moment of silent understanding before turning their focus back to the task at hand—Retribution awaits.

Backstage, AEW correspondent Renee Young is standing by with the former Knockouts Champion, The Boss Sasha Banks and the 9th Wonder of the World Chyna, who stands silently behind Banks as the interview is conducted.

Renee Young: Sasha, you’re set to face Nia Jax in the Battle for Exemption, and she’s been on quite the winning streak lately. How are you feeling heading into this match?

Sasha Banks chuckles dismissively, shaking her head at the notion of Nia Jax’s recent victories.

Sasha Banks: Nia Jax’s winning streak? Please. She’s been picking up wins against jobbers on the B Show. It’s an outrage that management is even considering letting me enter the draft. But what else can you expect from the incompetent “leaders” around here?

Chyna stands silently beside Sasha, a formidable presence adding weight to Sasha’s words.

Sasha Banks: And don’t even get me started on Ronda Rousey. She gets a one-on-one rematch for the Knockouts Championship against Bianca Belair, but I still haven’t received my one-on-one rematch? And leaving me off Retribution? It’s a travesty! But you know what, Renee? I’m not dwelling on it. I’m looking ahead to Starrcade.

Sasha leans in, looking directly into the camera as if her next words are being spoken directly to her target.

Sasha Banks: Alexa Bliss, listen up. I want you at Starrcade. I want to settle the score once and for all. While you’ve been busy playing spooky mind games with Mickey in the PWI, I’ve been training for the rematch we all know is coming. So, what do you say, Alexa? The Boss versus The Bitch at Starrcade!

Sasha smirks as she walks off, ignoring Renee’s attempts to ask a follow up question as the scene fades.

Match #3 | Battle for Exemption
Sasha Banks w/ Chyna vs. Nia Jax

In our next bout, Sasha Banks, accompanied by Chyna, squares off against Nia Jax in a high-stakes Battle for Exemption match. Arn Anderson and Kevin Kelly provide commentary, highlighting the significance of this bout.

Arn Anderson: Folks, the winner of this Battle for Exemption is guaranteed a spot on the exempted superstar list in June’s 2024 World of Wrestling Draft. This is a critical match for both competitors.

Kevin Kelly: Absolutely, Arn. Sasha Banks and Nia Jax both have a lot riding on this one. And with Chyna at ringside, you know there’s going to be some added intensity.

The bell rings, and the match begins with both women circling each other. Sasha Banks tries to use her speed, darting in and out with quick strikes, but Nia Jax’s power advantage quickly becomes apparent. Jax catches Banks with a huge shoulder block, sending her sprawling to the mat.

Banks gets back to her feet and attempts a running dropkick, but Jax swats her away with ease. Jax grabs Banks and hits a massive scoop slam, following up with a running leg drop. She goes for the pin, but Banks kicks out at two.

Kevin Kelly: Nia Jax is dominating so far. Sasha Banks needs to find a way to turn this around.

Jax continues to overpower Banks, hitting her with a series of power moves. She lifts Banks for a Samoan drop, but Banks wriggles free and lands on her feet. She quickly hits the ropes and delivers a dropkick to the back of Jax’s knee, finally bringing her down to one knee.

Arn Anderson: Smart strategy by the former Knockouts Champion Sasha Banks, targeting the knee. She’s got to chop the big tree down.

Banks follows up with a flurry of kicks and a springboard knee strike, which staggers Jax. Banks then hits a running bulldog, planting Jax’s face into the mat. She covers Jax, but Jax powers out at two, tossing Banks off her with authority.

Jax gets back to her feet, angered by Banks’ offense. She charges at Banks, but Banks ducks under a clothesline and hits the ropes. On the rebound, Banks leaps onto Jax for a tornado DDT, spiking her head into the mat. Banks quickly transitions into the Bank Statement, wrenching back on Jax’s neck.

Arn Anderson: Sasha Banks has the Bank Statement locked in! This could be it!

Jax struggles, using her strength to crawl towards the ropes. She eventually reaches out and grabs the bottom rope, forcing Banks to break the hold. Banks looks frustrated as she gets to her feet. Jax, shaking off the effects of the hold, slowly rises as well.

Kevin Kelly: Nia Jax just barely making it to the ropes. What a match!

Banks tries to maintain her momentum, hitting the ropes again for another attack. But Jax catches her mid-air and plants her with a massive spinebuster. Jax signals for the end, looking to hit her signature Samoan drop.

Arn Anderson: Nia Jax is looking to put Sasha Banks away here!

As Jax lifts Banks for the Samoan drop, Chyna climbs onto the apron, causing a distraction. The referee turns her attention to Chyna, yelling at her to get down. Jax, momentarily distracted, doesn’t see Banks slip out of her grasp.

Kevin Kelly: Chyna with the distraction! This could be the opening Sasha needs!

Banks quickly capitalizes, hitting Jax with a backstabber. She transitions into the Bank Statement again, wrenching back with all her might. Jax fights, but the distraction and the backstabber have taken their toll. She taps out, and the referee calls for the bell.

Banks releases the hold and stands tall, celebrating with Chyna as the crowd reacts with a mix of cheers and boos. Jax, frustrated, rolls out of the ring, nursing her back.

Kevin Kelly: With that win, Sasha Banks secures her spot on the exempted superstar list for the 2024 World of Wrestling Draft. What a match, and what a statement by The Boss!

Winner: Sasha Banks
Match Time: 12:43

SEGMENT FOUR

The camera fades in on a dimly lit room with a professional yet tense atmosphere. AEW Correspondent Taz sits in the middle, flanked by AEW TV Champion Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and Swerve Strickland. The atmosphere is charged as Taz begins the interview.

Taz: Gentlemen, thank you for taking the time to sit down with me. I know there’s no love lost between the three of you. Let’s get right into it. Swerve, how are you feeling heading into this match?

Swerve Strickland: [leaning forward] Taz, for me, this has never been personal. I just want to be the TV Champion because it’s clear that the belt is the workhorse championship of this company. And that’s what I am—a workhorse.

Gunther scoffs loudly, shaking his head.

Gunther: [with disdain] It’s both personal and professional for me. Personal because neither of you are on the level of the Ring General. And professional because I’m the real workhorse in this company.

Cody Rhodes: [calmly] I respect what both of you are capable of in the ring. But I’m not ready to relinquish my first-ever singles championship.

Gunther leans in, his eyes locked on Swerve.

Gunther: Swerve, you already had your shot at Cody, and you failed.

Swerve: [fired up] That’s only because you got involved, Gunther!

Taz puts a hand up, trying to maintain order as Swerve and Gunther get into each other’s faces.

Taz: Gentlemen, let’s keep it civil here. Cody, your thoughts?

Cody looks between his two challengers, his expression steely.

Cody Rhodes: Both of you need to shut up and save it for this Sunday. When it’s all said and done and that bell sounds, the referee will be raising my hand, and Jane Mouse will declare that the American Nightmare is STILL your AEW TV Champion.

Gunther laughs mockingly, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Gunther: It’s good to have dreams, Cody. But reality will slap you in the face come Sunday.

The tension in the room reaches a boiling point as the camera focuses on the intense stares between Cody, Gunther, and Swerve. Taz looks at the camera, wrapping up the segment.

Taz: There you have it, folks. The stage is set for an explosive showdown at Retribution. Tune in this Sunday to see who walks out as the AEW TV Champion.

The segment draws to a close as all three men continue to engage in an intense staredown of one another as the scene fades.

Match #4 | Battle for Exemption
The Phenomenal AJ Styles vs. The American Dragon Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson and AJ Styles stand across from each other in the ring, ready to engage in a highly anticipated bout.

Arn Anderson: This is a clash between two former AEW World Heavyweight Champions. Both men know what it takes to be at the top, and tonight, they’re going to leave it all in the ring.

Kevin Kelly: And don’t forget, Arn, the winner of this bout is guaranteed a spot on the exempted superstars list heading into the June World of Wrestling Draft. There’s a lot on the line tonight.

Arn Anderson: And unlike when these two met at Dragon’s Fury, MJF will not be a factor! They went thirty minutes in that classic match, can AJ Styles finally defeat his former friend? Or will Danielson pull off another huge upset?

The bell rings, and the match begins with a series of chain wrestling exchanges, both men showcasing their technical prowess. Danielson gains the upper hand with a wristlock, but Styles quickly counters with a headlock takedown. Danielson transitions into a headscissors, and AJ kips up to break free, earning applause from the audience.

The pace quickens as AJ hits a dropkick, sending Danielson to the mat. Danielson rolls out of the ring to regroup, but AJ doesn’t give him a moment’s rest, launching over the top rope with a phenomenal forearm to the outside, taking Danielson down.

Kevin Kelly: AJ Styles wasting no time, taking the fight to Danielson on the outside! He knows letting Danielson have room to breath would be a huge mistake!

Back in the ring, Styles continues his assault with a springboard 450 splash, but Danielson gets his knees up just in time. Danielson capitalizes with a series of stiff kicks to Styles’ chest, each one echoing throughout the arena.

Arn Anderson: Those kicks from Danielson are lethal. Each one is meant to wear down AJ Styles.

Kevin Kelly: Bryan Danielson might have the most dangerous kicks in the game. This isn’t good for AJ Styles!

Danielson lifts AJ up for a suplex, but AJ lands on his feet, catching Danielson with a Pele Kick. Danielson staggers, and AJ hits a quick snap suplex, going for the cover.

The referee makes the count. 1… 2… !!

Danielson kicks out, and AJ immediately locks in a rear chinlock, trying to wear down the American Dragon. The crowd boos Danielson as he fights to his feet, breaking the hold with a series of elbows to Styles’ midsection. Danielson runs the ropes, but AJ catches him with a picture-perfect dropkick.

Kevin Kelly: These two are so evenly matched. It’s incredible to watch.

AJ lifts Danielson for a vertical suplex, but Danielson knees him in the head, dropping back to his feet. Danielson whips AJ into the corner and follows up with a running dropkick, then climbs to the top rope. AJ stumbles out of the corner, and Danielson leaps, hitting a missile dropkick that sends AJ sprawling.

Arn Anderson: High-risk, high-reward from Danielson!

Danielson goes for the cover, but AJ kicks out at two. Danielson signals for the Busaiku Knee, the crowd roaring in anticipation. He charges, but AJ counters, catching him mid-air and transitioning into the Calf Crusher!

Kevin Kelly: Calf Crusher! AJ’s got it locked in!

Danielson writhes in pain, clawing his way towards the ropes. The audience is on their feet, a show of respect for two of the best wrestlers in the industry. With sheer determination, Danielson manages to grab the bottom rope, forcing the break. AJ reluctantly releases the hold, frustration visible on his face.

Arn Anderson: Danielson barely made it to the ropes. That Calf Crusher could’ve ended it right there.

AJ pulls Danielson to his feet, setting up for the Styles Clash. He lifts Danielson, but Danielson wriggles free, reversing it into a sunset flip. The referee drops to count.

One! Two! Three!

AJ kicks out just a millisecond too late. The bell rings, and Danielson rolls out of the pin, celebrating his hard-fought victory. The crowd erupts in applause for both men’s incredible performance.

Kevin Kelly: Bryan Danielson pulls it off! He’s secured his spot on the exempted superstars list!

Arn Anderson: What a match! Both these men gave it everything they had, but tonight, Danielson was just a hair quicker.

Kevin Kelly: And you have to wonder what this means for AJ Styles’ employment here in All Elite Wrestling moving forward. He’s never not been exempted by BWM Inc. in the World of Wrestling Draft! Could this be the year we finally say goodbye to the Phenomenal One?

Arn Anderson: That remains to be seen, Kevin. Don’t go anywhere, the Total Anarchy: All Elite contract signing is next!

Winner: The American Dragon Bryan Danielson
Match Time: 22:07

The ring is extravagantly decorated for the contract signing between Sami Zayn and Master Splinter. Metalingus hits, and the BWM Inc Co-Chairman Benny Mouse makes his way to the ring, showered with a thunderous chorus of boos. He stands proudly in the center of the ring, microphone in hand.

Benny Mouse: Earlier tonight, Master Splinter tried to appeal to my emotions, tried to get me to turn my back on my son-in-law. But I will never betray Sami. Sami is family. Closer to me than my brothers ever were. Finally, I have some family I can trust!

The crowd buzzes as Benny introduces the other Co-Chairman, Sami Zayn. Sami wheels out his wife and Benny’s daughter, Megan Mouse, who remains in a catatonic state. Stagehands help position her wheelchair in the ring, and Sami again faces her towards the turnbuckle, away from the ring action.

Benny Mouse: It is with great pride and honor I introduce the man who will ensure Splinter finally retires for good, my son-in-law, Sami Zayn!

Sami takes the microphone, his confidence oozing as he steps forward.

Sami Zayn: In six short days, when I defeat Splinter in the Total Anarchy: All Elite match, Splinter will finally have to retire for good this time! Let me explain the rules: The match contains seven stipulations. It’s an Iron Man Match, it’s a Hell in a Cell Match, if we do escape the cell, falls count anywhere. The ropes will be wrapped in barbed wire, the first blood drawn in the match gives the assailant two falls, breaking an opponent’s bones or injuring them scores five falls. And the final stipulation… will be picked by Splinter.

The crowd erupts as Master Splinter makes his entrance, accompanied by his proteges, the Harlem Turtles, Booker D. and Stevie R. Splinter steps into the ring, eyeing Sami with intensity.

Master Splinter: Sami, you forgot to mention what happens if I win. If I win, you and Benny must reinstate the BWM Inc. Board of Directors and comply with the findings of their investigation!

The tension rises as Splinter and Sami sit across from one another. Benny stands next to Megan, looking confident. The Harlem Turtles stand behind Splinter, ready for anything.

Master Splinter: The final stipulation is that each participant can add five lumberjacks to the ringside area, in case either of us escapes the cell!

Sami smirks and nods, leaning forward.

Sami Zayn: Fine by me, Splinter. This Sunday, it will be my great pleasure to be the man to finally retire the “so-called greatest superstar of all time.”

The two engage in an intense staredown as the arena lights suddenly cut out. When they turn back on, Armageddon, Benny Mouse’s former bodyguard, is standing in the ring, glaring menacingly at a terrified Benny.

Kevin Kelly: What in the world? Armageddon is here!

Arn Anderson: Oh no, this isn’t good! Benny Mouse is in trouble!

Sami Zayn makes a run for it with Megan, screaming for someone to help Benny. Benny, in his fear, experiences a dementia episode, looking around confused and terrified.

Benny Mouse: I don’t understand! I don’t understand!

Armageddon mouths, “I’m sorry,” before launching a brutal assault on Benny Mouse. The attack culminates in a massive Armageddon Bomb, crushing the founder of BWM Inc.

Arn Anderson: This is sickening! Nobody deserves this, not even Benny Mouse!

Kevin Kelly: Armageddon is more than 10 times the size of Benny Mouse!

Sami tries to get back to the ring, but Splinter and the Harlem Turtles block his path. Sami watches in horror as Armageddon continues the assault. The show fades to black with Arn Anderson and Kevin Kelly’s horrified cries echoing through the arena.

Kevin Kelly: Someone get help! This is madness!

Arn Anderson: We need medical personnel out here now! This is too much!

Armageddon looks saddened by his own actions, as Benny Mouse lies helpless in the ring. Blood spews from his mouth as he lies motionless in the center of the ring. Even Splinter and the Harlem Turtles look shocked by what they’ve just witnessed. The screen fades to black as the BWM Inc. copyright message is displayed and the final episode of Dynamite in the 6th Era comes to a close!
