The History of BWM Inc.

Establishment and Early Years of BWM Inc.

Benny Wade Mouse

Founded in 1998, BWM Inc. emerged while its founder, Benny Wade Mouse, was working for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) under, and later alongside, ECW founder Paul E. Dangerously (Heyman). Benny, the youngest of the Mouse brothers, was deprived of his inheritance and had to climb the professional wrestling ladder on his own. By 2002, he had saved enough to debut as an on-screen character and eventually buy out ECW, rebranding it.

Rise to Prominence

With the collapse of the USWA, Benny successfully negotiated contracts with several key roster members, including Metal Head, whom he chose as the face of his promotion. Shortly after, Jeff Murrey announced the formation of the UWA, partnering with Benny’s eldest brother and former USWA owner, Mickey Marcus Mouse. Benny’s rebranded UWF found underdog success, particularly with its Friday night show, “Chaos.”

Personal and Professional Drama

On the night Benny and Mickey’s programs first went head-to-head, Benny revealed a secret affair with Molly, the wife of UWA star Saguna, which led to the birth of their child, Megan Mouse. Benny and Molly married on UWF television, with Molly going into labor on live TV. Benny frequently made his character the “butt of the joke,” including an on-screen affair with Lilo, a man in drag, and Shyann, the widow of Shane Murphy.

Expansion and Dominance

In 2003, Benny acquired the UWA’s North Division from Jeff Murrey and his brother Vinny’s company, the NWA, making it a developmental territory for the UWF. Benny declared himself the most successful wrestling promoter in history. However, by the end of 2004, BWM Inc. announced the cessation of UWF operations.

Return and Subsequent Hiatuses

Benny resurfaced in 2007, pitching “From Dusk till Dawn” to the World of Wrestling organization. This 12-hour show revived interest in the industry, prompting the rebirth of UWA by Mickey Mouse and the formation of Benny’s Elite Wrestling Alliance (EWA). Despite initial success, the HCW’s chaotic style overshadowed Benny’s EWA, leading to the “Erratic Era” marked by prolonged and unplanned hiatuses.

5th Era and Decline

In 2019, Benny Mouse again reached out to the WOW Organization with a proposal for “From Dusk Til Dawn 3,” which much like the first version of the event, would lead to the rebirth of the wrestling industry. The 6th Era began after weeks of Benny Mouse begging Catherine Mouse to form her own wrestling league to give the industry a proper sendoff. After Catherine relented, her time as CEO of MMouse Enterprises was short-lived as her father Mickey, never wanting to be left out, reinstated himself in the top role so he could compete against his brother for the final time.

Though the relaunch of the EWA was a major critical and ratings success, the company again experienced turmoil due to a shaky schedule as a result of Benny’s erratic behaviors. During the 2020 pandemic, Benny Mouse first began exhibiting behaviors deemed strange (even for him) on the World of Wrestling’s inaugural Starrcade. During this time, Benny begged his daughter Megan (who debuted with the EWA in 2019 at the tender age of 17 years old) to lead his company while he waited out the virus he feared would take his life if he caught it.

However, after asking Megan in front of the entire world to lead his company, Benny would have a change of heart and would issue a series of legal injunctions to keep Megan from moving ahead.

The Birth of All Elite Wrestling

Eventually, by 2022, the BWM Inc. Board of Directors learned that Benny Mouse had disappeared, and they scrapped the lawsuits and Megan moved forward with the birth of All Elite Wrestling.

In November of 2022, AEW would debut and find instant ratings success. However, there was still a brief period of chaos as the company had several starts and stops. At the 2023 Starrcade, Benny Mouse would resurface as he and Sami Zayn appeared together for the first time, kidnapping Megan.

After a few brief appearances from the AEW in the latter part of 2023, the company would finally return to action full-time and uninterrupted with Benny Mouse back in control and Sami Zayn as the Director of Operations in 2024. The company has been on fire ever since, and has been deemed the “winner” of 6th Era.

Challenges and Diagnosis

In 2024, Master Splinter revealed Benny’s erratic behavior stemmed from early onset dementia diagnosed in 2008. This revelation explained his absences and strange actions over the years. Splinter would also reveal that Benny had falsified paternity records in 2003, prompting a lifetime of emotional abuse to Megan Mouse, who believed she was Benny’s adopted daughter. Splinter also alleged inappropriate conduct from Benny toward BWM Inc.’s female employees, including in 2019 with Renee Young. By the end of the 6th Era, Benny was ousted from his company by Sami Zayn, his former friend and son-in-law, who, along with Megan Mouse-Zayn, now leads BWM Inc.

Legacy and Future

As the 7th Era begins, Sami and Megan helm BWM Inc., continuing the legacy of one of the most storied companies in wrestling history. Benny now resides in a dementia care facility, his contributions to the industry honored despite his personal struggles.
