WWE SmackDown Results – July 25, 2025

Location: Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio

Commentary Team: Wade Barrett (Play-by-Play), Pat McAfee (Color Commentary)

Show Opening: Chaos Unleashed

Before the SmackDown intro even hits the screen, the show bursts onto the air with absolute pandemonium backstage. Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley are in a full-scale brawl, fists flying as crates crash and officials scramble. Security floods the area, struggling to contain the chaos as referees scream for order.

Wade Barrett: “We’re not even a minute into the show and it’s already gone completely off the rails!”

Pat McAfee: “Reigns and Moxley are trying to tear each other apart! This is personal, Wade!”

As security finally wedges between them, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena walks into frame, scoffing.

John Cena: “Savages. This is why I’m champion. Because I don’t roll around like a couple of wild dogs.”

Triple H steps into the scene, sharply dressed and visibly annoyed.

Triple H: “Enough, Cena. Whether it’s Priest or you walking out of SummerSlam with that title, you’ll be facing one of them next—because Roman Reigns vs. Jon Moxley is officially a number one contender match for SummerSlam.”

Huge pop from the crowd watching on the jumbotron inside the arena.

Match 1: Montez Ford vs. Ron Simmons

This was a generational clash, with Ford showcasing his athleticism and Simmons countering with power and veteran presence. Simmons dominated early with slams and spinebusters, but Ford’s speed proved too much. After a huge Tope Con Hilo to the outside and a sky-high Frog Splash, Montez got the pin.

Result: Montez Ford defeats Ron Simmons via Frog Splash

Wade Barrett: “What a statement win for Montez Ford before the APA faces the Street Profits at SummerSlam.”

Pat McAfee: “I need a breather already and it’s only match one!”

Segment: Life and Legacy Preview – “Mr. Murrey’s White Powder Blues”

A preview for the reality series Life and Legacy with Mr. Murrey airs… and things quickly go off the rails.

Mr. Murrey sits at a pristine glass table, across from Baby Billy, both of them laughing maniacally and clearly indulging in some suspicious white powder.

Baby Billy (snorting, voice shaking): “You did it, Murrey! You really did it! You’re on the TV, baby! That’s success, right there!”

Murrey leans back, his eyes wide, arms spread like a prophet of Wall Street.

Mr. Murrey: “They told me I was washed. I said I was just pre-rinsed. Now look at me, Baby Billy—I’m legacy!”

Baby Billy: “This is gonna be bigger than Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers and Teenjus!”

McAfee is dying laughing on commentary.

Pat McAfee: “What in the Breaking Bad meets Duck Dynasty did we just watch?!”

Wade Barrett: “I’m speechless. And slightly concerned.”

Match 2: Cody Rhodes vs. Finn Bálor

This was an instant classic. The crowd was white hot as both men wrestled like their careers were on the line.

Early on, the United States Champion, Bálor targeted Cody’s chest and worked a methodical pace. Cody fought through it with the crowd behind him, hitting a Disaster Kick and a beautiful springboard cutter. Bálor nearly stole the match with a Coup de Grâce, but Cody rolled away and fired back with two Cross Rhodes in succession for the win.

Wade Barrett: “That was incredible—vintage Bálor and a determined Cody Rhodes leaving it all in the ring.”

Segment: The Rock’s SummerSlam Announcement

Just as Cody is catching his breath in the ring, The Rock’s music hits. The Cleveland crowd erupts as The Great One makes his way out in a designer leather jacket and sunglasses.

The Rock: “Now The Rock knows all of you candy-asses have been waiting to see who’s stepping up to face The Great One at SummerSlam night two. Well guess what? There is no one worthy.”

Crowd boos furiously.

The Rock: “So instead… The Rock is bringing the most electrifying concert in sports entertainment history to SummerSlam: ROCKSTOCK 2025! Live. Loud. Legendary.”

Fans are not having it.

Cody gets to his feet, livid, yelling from the ring.

Cody Rhodes: “You’re ducking everyone! You’re a fraud, Dwayne!”

Cody leaps out of the ring and storms up the ramp, but a wall of security intercepts him.

The Rock (grinning): “Keep barking, Rhodes. Maybe one day you’ll be famous enough to be ignored by The Rock.”

Cody struggles to break through as the show fades out with the fans booing, The Rock smirking, and Wade Barrett signing off.

Wade Barrett: “What a chaotic night! Moxley and Reigns, Cena’s possible new challenge, Cody’s fury—what the hell is going to happen next week on the SmackDown before SummerSlam?”
