ULW held a series live shows from July 12th through the early hours of the 14th and the following is what happened:
The Samoan Connection defeated The Hollys in brutal fashion as Yokozuna and Umaga first focused on dismantling Hardcore Holly and then focusing on Crash. Crash managed to survive an additional two minutes after Hardcore was carted off to a medical facility, but he ultimately succumbed to the bombardment as the former Tag Champions sent a message to the division!
Maryse defeated Lacey Evans via pinfall after a 7 minute brawl wherein each woman managed to display their skills. In the end, as Lacey extended her hand in respect, Maryse slapped it away and laughed in her face! However, Maryse’s disrespect of Evans didn’t go unnoticed as Maryse’s former groupmates Penelope Ford and Jamie Hayter came down to the ring and protected Evans from further humiliation while looking at the old leader in disgust! Maryse scoffed at this apparent betrayal and vacated the ring, brushing her former allies off as if they were dirt on her shoulders!
Pac defeated Fandango by making quick work of him. Fandango wasn’t phased by the loss, though, as he proceeded to dance to his music while a confused Pac watched on.
Ronda Rousey addressed the crowd, declaring herself the “unquestioned queen of the industry” in the wake of her victory over Alexa Bliss at “The Premiere”. She dared any woman to step up and prove her wrong and even mocked the idea that Asuka would succeed this Monday on “Aggression”!
In the main event of the first night, Io Shirai successfully defended her International Championship in a barnburner of a match with Hikaru Shida! She then grabbed the microphone and addressed Rousey, saying that she is always ready for a fight, if Rousey thinks she can withstand the challenge!
Day two of the live tour kicked off with an exciting tag team bout between the New Catch Republic and SCU! The 15 minute battle ended in a draw when all four men wound up too exhausted to continue! As they were helped to their feet, the crowd rose and showered them with praise!
In a destructive debut, Kama Mustafa mutilated Matt Taven, leaving him in a bloody pool. As the medic team attempted to get Taven to help him seek medical attention, Kama intervened and went to continue the assault. Except, AJ Styles made it a point to rush to the ring to force Kama to relent. Kama backed off but not before pointing at AJ and saying something menacing that none of the audio recording devices could pick up. AJ didn’t seem scared, though, as he tended to Taven, even walking with the stretcher back to the ambulance to make sure he was safe!
The Premier Champion, Adam Cole came out to a mixed reaction and announced an open challenge to anyone who wanted a “shot at greatness”. A response came in the form of his former partner, Roderick Strong. Cole, though, just shook his head and laughed as he stepped out of the ring and left Strong behind with the boos showering overhead!
Dragon Lee impressed all onlookers in the next bout in solid victory over Billy Kidman! Lee grabbed the microphone and shouted about being “reduced to debut on a house show”, and promised that he would be unavoidable if it was the last thing he did!
In day two’s main event, Ricky Starks successfully defended his Extreme Championship against the former HCW Extreme Champion, Blade! Many HCW faithful began chanting “HCW! HCW! HCW!” during the incredible bout, and the two finished it off with a show of respect, but the moment was short-lived as Shawn Spears emerged through the crowd and attacked both men with his steel chair! Spears grabbed the microphone and mocked the crowd for their nostalgia saying “HCW is dead, you morons!” before continuing his assault, leaving Starks and Blade in need of medical attention!
Day three of the live tour started around 11pm on Sunday, July 13th, and ended shortly after 1am on the 14th. The first match was a single’s encounter featuring The Miz and The Aggressor. As Miz was headed to the ring during his entrance, he got into an argument with a disgruntled fan who was none-too-impressed with how Miz disrespected R-Truth recently. Miz brushed it off in the moment, but he soon grew irritated with the trolling by the same fan during the match. Miz almost lost the bout when he got into another argument with the guy, which gave Aggressor an opening. However, Miz outsmarted Aggressor and managed to get the best of him as he made an inappropriate gesture to the heckler at ringside when his hand was raised!
Match two of the day pitted Kushida against Owen Hart in a classic clash of similar styles. Kushida shined bright for the crowd as he displayed his aerial skills and technical prowess as Hart dazzled with his classic wrestling mastery. In the end, Hart got the best of Kushida and the two showed their mutual respect after the ending bell rang!
Aiden English took on Big Cass, but his efforts proved unsuccessful as he noticed Uno, Dos, and Tres all outside of the ring holding duct tape covered signs which appeared to read “Why Quatro? Why??” Aiden shouted to be left alone, but he turned around to be met with Cass’s boot, which sealed the deal!
In the main event, Jade Cargill was forced – by decree of CME Vice President Abigail Mouse – to enter into a gauntlet match against 9 other women! After outlasting Emma, Sherri Martel, Dana Brooke, Sharon Carter, Maria, Kelly Kelly, Zevon Heaven, Alicia Fox, and Luna, Jade grabbed the microphone and conveyed her anger about the situation, saying:
“Look, Abby, I know that you are doing whatever you can to elevate your bestie, Alexa. But, you need to know something about me: I am THAT BITCH! I will NOT be stopped, and I will NOT be kept down!
“You may think that you control my destiny, but you got it twisted! I am the ONLY one in control here! Do you see what I did here? Do you see the carnage that YOU caused?
“No matter what is thrown at me, I will ALWAYS come out on top in the end, and there’s not a damn thing you can do to change that INEVITABILITY! Mark my words, I will be women’s champion again! The storm is coming, bitch, and there isn’t a shelter in the world strong enough to protect you from me!”
With that, the crowd erupted as the victor stood tall and then proceeded to leave through the audience who greeted her like a conquering hero!
