The following press release consists of reactions to ULW’s ratings loss to AEW last week, a preview for this week’s shows, and the reveal as to which League will host Aggression through to the end of 2024:
“AEW had a stellar show. We had a great show ourselves, but the fact is that BWM Inc. is succeeding in continuing their momentum from the Sixth Era. While it is still early in this brand new era, it is clear to me that this one belongs to AEW until someone else proves otherwise.” – Co-Vice-Head of CME, Catherine L. Mouse
“We need to do better. It’s as simple as that. Our ratings may be up from last week, but we are down from two weeks ago. Definitely the wrong trajectory. Perhaps it has something to with our leadership.” – Co-Vice-Head of CME, Ted Brown
“Listen to those asshats freaking out. I remain convinced that our product is the superior one. We will see who comes out laughing after this week and next week. HA HA HA HA!!” – Head of CME, Ted Dibiase Sr.
Before we go into the preview for this week’s ULW broadcasts, the latest series of ratings came out and gave us our official averages for the last seven weeks. After figuring out the average overall rate for the Premier and Extreme Leagues over this initial Host phase, we have found that the Extreme League, once again, bested the Premier League with the Extreme League earning an average viewership of 7,438,626 fans to the Premier League’s 7,436,748. Accordingly, the Extreme League will continue to host Aggression through to the end of 2024, returning on Monday, November 11th!
“It’s obvious that having Intensity and Animosity each week is hurting our weekly averages. This lowers the likelihood of us besting the Extreme League for now. However, I will not stop until the Premier League serves as the Host league. Better days are ahead!” – Premier Commissioner CJ Perry
“Lana can whine all she wants. There’s never been a doubt in my mind as to which League is the superior one. I’m looking forward to hosting Aggression through to the end of the season!” – Extreme Commissioner Stacy Keibler
Now for brief preview of the cards to come for this week in ULW –
Women’s Championship: Jade Cargill © v. Charlotte Flair
Flair earned this shot by overcoming Beth Phoenix and Angelina Love in a triple threat match. Now, we are poised to get this dream match of sorts to kick off ULW Aggression! With Ronda Rousey waiting to challenge the winner at Hallow-Travaganza next Monday, the pressure is on for Flair to deliver or for Jade to prevail once again!
Damian Priest v. Matt Cardona
Cardona went on a slight hiatus in celebration of his victory over Dragonfly in August, but since he has returned he has made it a point to torment Bray Wyatt’s followers in anticipation of his earned shot at the Undisputed gold. However, Damian Priest has taken it upon himself to stand beside the Undisputed Champion as well as defend the honor of the Dark Order. The end result of this proxy war between Cardona and those supporting Wyatt is that this match has been slated!
International Championship: AJ Lee © v. Roxanne Perez
Lee became the champion by her lonesome, but the uncertainty surrounding her and Living Dead Girl continues to plague Lee in this new era. Meanwhile, Roxy has stormed onto the scene and earned a shot after taking down the former International Champion – Mandy Rose – and her former best friend (Cora Jade) in a triangle match. These two incredible stars square off tonight!
Extreme Championship: Seth Rollins © v. Eddie Guerrero
Their first meeting for the title was a throwaway gift from Seth to Eddie, and it was a hit with the crowd. After tearing the house down, they had a rematch. But, Seth was reluctant to offer yet another rematch. Irritated and convinced that he deserves a shot, Eddie interfered in Seth’s defense against Vader and Bigelow a couple of weeks ago, and then he viciously attacked Seth and beat him down until he agreed to one more showdown…before proceeding to steal the Extreme title! Following this drama, the match is bound to be another barnburner!
Undisputed Championship: Bray Wyatt © v. Attitude
Despite his recent funk, Wyatt has found a way to win in defense after defense. Now, though, he finds himself in a rematch for the gold against his initial challenger of the era after the retired legend, Teo, interfered on Attitude’s behalf and aided in him besting Dibiase Jr. last week. Will Bray be able to pull off yet another successful title defense, or is this finally the moment we see the Attitude Era take hold?
Extreme Championship: ??? © v. Ricky Starks
Kicking off ULW Intensity will be Ricky Starks receiving the title match he earned by defeating Owen Hart a couple weeks ago. Can the former Internet Champion win a prestigious title, or will the winner of Eddie v. Seth manage to win yet again within 4 days?
Owen Hart v. Bron Breakker
Breakker’s hatred for legends continues as he sets his sights on Owen Hart. Owen is still reeling from his recent loss to Ricky Starks, but now he finds himself in the crosshairs of a man who hates the guys with experience. Will this be yet another notch on Bron’s warpath, or will this be the time for Owen to prove that he really is destined to become the Undisputed Champion?!
No Disqualification: Becky Lynch v. Bayley
Friday’s Main Event will be a showdown between two former friends and members of the so-called “Four Horsewomen”. Becky Lynch was trying to do the right thing by congratulating Charlotte Flair on her earning a shot at gold, but Bayley grew so jealous of the others that she burst onto the scene and tore Becky apart. Afterwards, Head of CME, Dibiase, set this match to finish off ULW week!
That does it for now. Next week, after Hallow-Travaganza, we find out the updated League Lists for November!
