ULW Event Summaries from 8.19.24 – 9.27.24

Bulletpoint Summaries from August 19th, 2024 through September 27th, 2024:

Premier Aggression (8.19.24)

  • Cold scene shows the Board of Directors meeting on the question of the Rule 11 clock
  • Dibiase’s influence is felt strong throughout the exchange as the Board appears split; with a slight tilt towards Dibiase, preventing Brown and Catherine from outright getting their way (especially after John Brown – not Anthony – reveals himself as the final member of the Board, appointed by Dibiase to Chief Compliance Officer)
  • The stalemate leads to open frustration by Catherine and Ted Brown, but Jackie leans in and offers Catherine (who was seeking to withdraw the proposal) an alternative to amend the proposal to help Ted Brown and Catherine get what they want…with a twist
  • Catherine offers up the proposal, which creates the rotating position of “Triad Head” among the Triad members every three months
  • Dibiase likes the proposal as well, and it passes overwhelmingly (after the amendment passes with a simple majority), with the new rule going into effect on September 1st!
  • Jackie spoke up saying that her grandfather would see this moment with renewed optimism for the industry before the meeting adjourning
  • In the opening bout, Jade Cargill successfully defended her Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez, after Bayley was stunned and beat to the ring to answer the open challenge
  • We see Commissioner Perry walking as the lights flicker, she is interrupted by Carmelo Hayes – who wants another shot at LA Knight, who he claims cost him the Premier Title -, and Perry reminds him that Knight is injured, but agrees to give him a match at the next Premier League show! The lights then flicker once again after Hayes departs!
  • Next, before the next match, Owen Hart comes down to the ring to explain himself from his sudden appearance 2 weeks ago

  • In a hard fought Premier Title match, Mystico retains over Goldust
  • As the trio of Big Show, Saguna, and Sonjay all mourn the loss of their chance with Lady Love, the Crock traipses a series of contenders for their affection in front of them from Sunny, to “Lady Man” (Ladies Man), to Greg Valentine, and then to Che. The guys aren’t impressed, as they elect to keep looking, with Crock left placed through a table
  • Jesse Hash tells Lawrence Mason that he is tired of being ignored and tired of CM Punk getting in his business, but that he will have to wait until Punk gets off the injured list; Hash then takes a swipe at AJ Lee before leaving!

  • Goldust just mutters that he will show his father and prove him wrong!
  • Carmelo Hayes and Matt Cardona then meet as Cardona praises Hayes for being such a rare talent, he says that he is doing so out of respect so that Hayes doesn’t take things personally when he loses to Cardona down the line

  • In the main event, LA Knight successfully defends his Premier Title against Powerhouse Hobbs, but doesn’t get to celebrate long as the Giant Gonzales shockingly emerges and decimates the champion, leaving him in a heap as the Giant raises the Premier Title up high before throwing it back down and closing the show standing tall above everyone and declaring that “No one stands up from the Giant Gonzales!!”
