Mission in Waiting – The Ninth Mission Postponed
A busier-than-usual week has caused me to fall a tad behind on watching the competition. I did, however, catch WWE’s latest “Supershow”, and boy did it deliver! We will discuss that more when I am finally able to get this ninth mission posted, which I anticipate will be around Wednesday or Thursday; here’s hoping!
Anyways, if I don’t get to review Aftershock by then, I will at the very least discuss the great improvements we have seen in WWE since our last mission (and there have been quite a few improvements). I can’t wait to share my thoughts with all of you!
Instead of talking about AEW or WWE, I will have to briefly touch base on the awesomeness to come from ULW this coming Monday with what might be the final Extreme Aggression for quite some time!
For starters, we have a match pitting the legendary Granddaddy Duxen against the debuting Bron Breakker! The son of Indy tag legend Rick Steiner, Bron shocked everyone when he stormed onto the scene a couple of weeks ago and demolished Duxen whilst he recovered from Kevin Owens. Tomorrow, Duxen looks to get some revenge while Bron looks to build on his momentum!
Next, Owen Hart returns to the ring for the first time since the Second Era to take on the veteran Sean Olson. Hart spoke boldly this past Monday about why he is here and why he chose to make an example out of Ricky Starks. Now, he looks to test the effects of ring rust as he takes on one of the most decorated stars of all-time in Sean Olson!
There will be a triple threat match featured the incredibly brutish Authors of Pain, the lethal duo of the Lucha Brothers, and the fast-rising Rascalz! AOP hasn’t been seen on television since they injured Bradshaw and the Lucha Brothers are aiming to put themselves back in the title picture. Meanwhile, Wes Lee and Nash Carter have been stealing the show in the live tour and are hoping to also steal this moment to get on Proud N’ Powerful’s radar!
Lastly, we will see the introduction of the Extreme Battle Royale as it features 20 woman battling it out for a chance to challenge Jade Cargill for the Women’s Title! This version of the Battle Royale – technically created in PWI in the previous era, though never debuted – will employ elements of the Massacre Six Match as well as the Gauntlet-style rules of the old USWA Royal Rumbles. It will be a fascinating match to watch as we prepare for ULW’s Main Season opener!
That’s all for me today, I need to prepare to get back to work!
Until our next Quest, this has been Johnny with yet another mission!
