RAW RESULTS
July 8th 2024
A video package shows at the beginning. A shadowy figure is walking through a charred wasteland. The figure reaches down and picks up the burnt NXT title. The figure turns and looks directly into the camera. The shadow slowly lifts and we see the face of Lexis King. Lexis looks into the camera and says, “Just like a phoenix from the ashes..I am not going anywhere.”
Pat McAfee: “Welcome ladies and gents to the season opener of Monday Night Raw!! Unless you are living in a cave without wifi, we are coming off the heels of an amazing Smackdown that featured night one of the WWE Draft! Tonight, Raw will host night two! Let’s go to the top of the stage where General Manager of RAW, Eric Bischoff will disclose how Raw did during the remaining six rounds totaling 24 picks between both brands!”
Eric Bischoff: “Oh man it feels good to be in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!”
The crowd screams so loud that arena decibels are at 115
Eric Bischoff: “The Canadian Tire Centre has always been one of my personal favorite arenas! Night one wasn’t the best night for Raw but baby, night two..we did pretty damn good!!
The crowd decibels are now at 125
Eric Bischoff: “I won’t go through all 12 picks but I will tell you this much, Raw has secured Bobby Lashley, Jeff Hardy, and none other than Main Event Jey Uso!! Obviously, after NXT airs tomorrow, the full list will be put out for each brand, but make no mistake, Raw is the superior brand with the biggest roster and next week we will crown the first ever World Champion!”
Triple H’s theme music hits…”Time to Play the Game!”
The crowd is shocked because it isn’t Triple H that comes out..it is Stephanie McMahon!
Stephanie McMahon: “Ottawa..can I ask you a question…Are you ready?…I said..ARE YOU READY?!”
The crowd is so loud that the decibel reader is at 130
Stephanie McMahon: “We love all of you and prepare yourselves for an unforgettable night of action!

Opening Contest
Sheamus and Butch versus Otis and Chad Gable
This tag match kicks off with Otis displaying his power and usefulness to the Alpha Academy by powerslamming both Sheamus and Butch. Chad and Otis keep Butch isolated to their corner of the ring by tagging in an out to each other. All seems to favor the Academy well until Otis decides to do the worm and misses the elbow drop. Sheamus is tagged in and hits the brogue kick on Otis to secure the victory.
Winners: Sheamus and Butch
7 min 42 seconds
After the match Gable slaps Otis in the face and calls him “a big, fat, sweaty, and disturbingly greasy loser.” Otis has tears in his eyes as both men exit the ring.
Backstage we find the Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre coming out of his locker room. He is stopped for an interview.
Mick Foley: “Drew, can I grab a word with you?”
Drew McIntyre: “Make it quick Foley, I have a plane to catch.”
Mick Foley: “What are your thoughts on losing to the United States”
Drew McIntyre: “Let me stop you right there Mick Fooley. I have been getting crapped on by this company for too long. I was the WWE Champion before movie stars started politicking and goofy celebrities from the 80’s were stealing my T.V. time. I have no problem being the Intercontinental Champion but dammit I will become the first ever World Champion come next week. Bet your Arse!’
Mick Foley: “Thank you Drew for your time.”

Second Bout
Triple Threat
(The winner will be in the World Championship match next week)
Finn Balor vs Big E vs Main Event Jey Uso
This match was a high stakes affair with the opportunity to have a shot at the World Championship next week! Big E’s power struggled against Finn Balor and Jey Uso’s high flying ability. There were points in this match where Jey and Finn worked together quite a bit. It looked as if Jey Uso would outshine everyone after hitting the frog splash from the top to Big E, but Finn capitalized by immediately hitting the coupe de grace from the otherside of the ring to Jey while he was lying on top of Big E. He moved Jey out of the way to pin Big E for the victory.
Winner: Finn Balor

Pat McAfee: “What a night we have had so far! I have just gotten word that another triple threat match will be held next week! That match will be for the World Championship! Eric Bischoff has informed me that it makes sense to him that the Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre should be in that match! So it will be Finn Balor against Drew McIntyre and an unnamed participant!”
