WWE CEO Jeff Murrey Announces Temporary Suspension of RAW and NXT Programming
[Stamford, 01/31/24] – WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) CEO Jeff Murrey has announced today the temporary suspension of RAW and NXT programming for this week.
The decision comes following a series of unforeseen circumstances, including the breakdown of negotiations with the USA Network and the emergence of allegations related to steroid use within the company.
In a statement, Mr. Murrey expressed regret for the disruption in the regular schedule but emphasized the company’s commitment to addressing concerns raised by its partners and maintaining a high standard of integrity.
“We understand the importance of delivering top-notch entertainment to our fans and appreciate the support we receive from our broadcast partners. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to suspend RAW and NXT for this week. We want to assure our fans that we are actively working to resolve the issues at hand and will be back stronger than ever next week,” said Jeff Murrey.
The CEO also revealed that WWE has reached an agreement with the CW network to host next week’s episodes of RAW and NXT, where a more lenient atmosphere will allow for a smoother transition during this challenging time.
“We are grateful to the CW for their understanding and flexibility during this period of uncertainty. We believe that shifting to the CW for next week’s episodes and possibly all future episodes will allow us to navigate these challenges and continue providing the world-class entertainment our fans expect from WWE,” added Murrey.
WWE fans can look forward to the return of RAW and NXT next week on the CW, as the company remains dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of performance, both in and out of the ring.
